During round 1 we all agreed it would be easier to craft if the movie was out on DVD...and now it is!

We will be crafting 1 large, 1 medium for this swap. Of course you can commit to more if you and your partner agree to it.

This is the first quilted thing I've ever made, and I'm really proud of how it turned out! It was made for my partner, SugarySweet, in the Mini Art Quilt swap. I thought just jumping in and forcing myself to make a quilt would be the only way to keep myself from procrastinating. W.R.O.N.G.!!! I still procrastinated, as I do in most things in my life   I definitely need to work on that.

Anyway, on to what you're actually looking for!

The DVD comes out on July 21st so possibly signups from the 21st until the end of July/ a week into August? I couldn't organize because I'd be closing on a house really close to then and wouldn't be able to keep my hair if I tried to! The first round was tons of fun and we all talked about how much easier it would have been if we'd had the dvd.

This swap is for those of us who are Shrinky Dink obsessed! Do you HAVE to include a SD in every craft you plan? If so...join usss!!!

I'm obsessed with Shrinky Dinks lately! Almost everything I've made recently has had some kind of shrunken plastic goody included, lol...

Would anyone want to do a swap kind of like the "craft my theme" swap, but where Shrinky dinks have to be a (big) part of each item?


(I just want an excuse to make more of these little guys!)

So...this is probably an incredibly dumb question. It makes sense that they WOULDN'T be, but I was cleaning out the cabinets of anything "non-vegetarian" and came across some Beef Bouillon cubes. There's not any animal ingredient directly listed, but I don't know how to tell otherwise. I've done google searches on a couple of the ingredients and come up with nothing. Any of you guys know?

Here's a list of ingredients:

Salt, hydrolyzed soy protein, sugar, corn syrup solids, natural flavors, monosodium glutamate, onion powder, caramel color, partially hydrogenated soybean oil, spices, silicon dioxide, garlic powder

I've got a bunch of ramen packets in the cabinet that are chicken flavor. It'd be nice to not use the packets and use a bouillon cube instead, but I can't find vegetable cubes anywhere.

So I was thinking it would be pretty cool to have a "Craft my pet" type swap. I'm sure something like this has been done before, but I didn't have time to search 

It wouldn't be necessarily a "make a sweater for my dog" type swap, but one where you incorporate your partner's pet into various crafts for your partner.

Ex: I have a Boston Terrier. Someone could make me a stuffed boston, a shirt with a boston on it, a painting, jewelry in the colors of a boston, and maybe one or two things for the dog as well 

I could organize probably in the next week or two if there's enough interest.

This is the figure I made for teaparty in the Coraline swap. She's made of poly clay and has a wire armature. I painted some parts of her after she was baked. Used real cosmetics- blush for her cheeks, eyeshadow for the little eyes, and nail polish for the lips and tiny, tiny nails

So I was in another discussion about how my hubby works 2nd shift, so jloveg sent me a couple recipes that reheat well. Taco soup was one of them (mine turned out more like a chili) and oh my goodness was it good! She said she didn't mind if I share 

2 cans kidney beans
1 can black beans
1 can garbonzo beans
1 can mexican corn
1 pkg dry taco seasoning
1 pkg dry ranch mix
1 diced onion
diced tomatoes (canned or fresh, I used canned)
1 can of water

When I made this it served about 6 people. You could only use half, double it, etc and I'm sure it would still turn out fine.

Dump all ingredients in together (don't drain water) and cook until beans are tender. Serve w/ tortilla chips, cheese and sour cream. I'll try to post a pic next time I make it, and many thanks to jloveg!
