1  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / axe scented soap? on: October 04, 2008 10:49:05 PM
My two male room mates are finally starting to notice that I make soap...after about 8 batches later... neither of them are impressed with my "girly soap" Roll Eyes

However they did think they looked cool..both of them have asked me to make them Axe scented soap in dark blue or green ... I read when I first started messing with cp soap never to add perfumes because the alcohol content can mess up the soaps curing.. so does this work as well on a body spray like Axe? Do you think it would be okay in hp or even mp? I'd prefer to do it in cp but I cant find Axe fragrance oil anywhere!! Has anyone ever tried something like this?

Thanks!
2  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / birthday package for friend on: September 30, 2008 06:16:42 PM
So my friend is one of those nuts who will spend whatever amount of money on something that smells good.. so for her birthday i tried making several things in her favorite scents..her birthday is in October so I tried to stay in the fall theme.

The purple soaps are red rose and thyme
The sugar scrub is cucumber melon with green tea
The two tins are pumpkin spice with orange zest light scrub
The two candles are banana nut bread... I have no clue how to make candles but she wanted them.. I bought some cheap pack of creme wax from micheals..and had to force myself to use my soap fo on it Sad

Anyone make candles? It was kinda fun..soap making is more exciting to me..but cost whys is it about the same as making soaps? Thanks
3  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / lavender vanilla whipped and frosted soap on: September 28, 2008 07:27:10 PM
I'm not usually a fan of lavender but with this sweet vanilla musk I love it!  The bars are 3.5- 4oz. I'm debating cleaning up the edges or not. The "icing" is vanilla scented and the "sprinkles" are lavender buds and lavender green tea

thanks for looking!
4  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / yummy soap on: September 23, 2008 06:14:34 PM
The batch on the left are cinnamon almond with honey and goats milk topped with infused cinnamon salt for awesome scrubbyness. They are 3.5-4 oz. The batch on the right is chocolate almond latte( smells like almond candy bars and coffee) they are 6.5 oz.

6  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / stuff from study hall (IMG HEAVY) on: September 02, 2008 07:38:04 PM
I never really fit into my study hall classes the were mostly used for gossiping and drama... it drove me nuts .. so I always did my thing in to corner with my art bag and ipod... I usually got strange faces when I washed out my paint brushes in my water bottles Tongue

The first one is an amy brown style fairy that was meant to look like one of my friends

The next two are my cartoon skulls that I created after staring at a girls shirt that looked like someone doodled all over it

And last is a panda that I did for my dark humored  friend name manda panda
( I cant remember what the symbols were suppose to mean and they aren't even accurate)

Thanks for looking!

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / 6ft betty boop on: August 31, 2008 09:28:44 AM
Hi guys. I made this Betty Boop during my senior spring break because I knew I was going to have my own place by May and I wanted to do a coca cola/bettty boop/ vintage theme. She is made out of MDF I used a jigsaw to cut her out, I didn't mean to make her so big the she was slanted against the wall when I drew her Tongue

Oh and she is posed that way because I cut a serving tray in 1/2 and attached it to my wall so she could hold fake food! Oh and total cost came to $38 for those who wondered. Thanks for looking
9  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects / My first post...handmade soap! on: August 30, 2008 11:01:15 AM
So I'm kinda sad that I am just now finding this site... it's as if i found my internet home. Cheesy
Yesterday was my first day ever messing with soap.. so I'm a newbie. I generally stay in the drawing/painting/ceramics
area but on occasion i sew and redo furniture and use my jigsaw..now today i made soap.

jasmine lotus lavender with vanilla topping.

Cinnamon Oatmeal Almond breakfast bar

A few questions? Do they look okay? I bought goats milk soap base with lye in it.. so i can practice before i mess with lye myself... I used the hp method but it had lye..so do i call them hp or cp soaps? Are they ready to use as soon as they harden or do they need to cure as well? Thank you!
