So so lovely!  And I'm digging on the fact that you used a patterned background.  I often think about doing that and then decide that it wouldnt' look right.  But you give me hope!

Love this!  I've always enjoyed the little bit that I puttered around in stumpwork but I was traditional and now I feel sort of lame....

And can I just say I'm enjoying the ninja comments?  Whenever I manage to pull something off at work, my staff asks me how and I tell them it's because I'm ninja awesome.  Wink

7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: DMC Secret Perfume? on: March 20, 2009 05:26:54 PM
I got that e-mail too and I was under the impression you could only buy them through the DMC online shop.  I deleted the e-mail b/c I think the idea is neat, but I know I'd never buy them b/c I'd be aggravated that they cost more and the scent wears off or they'd smell really awful and I' b bummed that I spent more on them.  Wow that sounds cranky and that's not how I mean it, but I think you smell what I'm steppin' in.  Wink

I love it (esp. the fabric choice: excellent compliment to your adorable design) and I think that frame is just perfect!

Thanks everyone!  I can't express how nice it is to get such great feedback!  And from awesome people who have indeed done just that!!!!  Yay for crafting binges!

Katie: I wouldn't mind stitching another one, but I couldn't make any promises for the near future since I'm looking at 4 weeks of steady work ahead of me w/ at most only three days off.   Embarrassed  I mean, yay work, but boo for VERY little sleep and craft time....

Kitty: That's so random and awesome!  What are the odds?   Cheesy

You ever decide you're going to hang a couple of pictures next to each other and then you realize what they really need is a third companion so then you spend every free moment working on the additional piece instead of doing the cleaning that inspired the picture hanging in the first place because if you don't finish it rightthisverysecond your head will explode and also you won't be able to get back to the whole project for about 4 weeks?  Yeah!  Me too!  So I have this:

The pattern is from Cross stitch Silhouettes and the final piece measures about 6x8 on 14 count aida.  As usual I thought I'd have it done in three nights tops.  Being all one color and small really helped nurture that thought.  And as usual I was wrong and it took something close to a week (because I really did stop and do other things, some of which was the aforementioned cleaning).  Thanks for looking!
