Dear Sharalee,
Thanks a lot for ALL your sweet commentaries.  And you saw it right: the socks for Artémise have some sort of glittery yarn in them.
You have an eagle vision, Sharalee!

Dear Gotgrey: I get those wonderful fuzzy socks at... the dollar store, yep! They also sell solid color fuzzy socks.  It seems that children particularly enjoy the softness of those sock creatures.
Thanks for the compliment!  Cheers!

7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Robots sculptures from plastic parts on: March 30, 2011 04:00:18 PM
THIS is my major obsession: gluing reclaimed plastic parts (with "Goop"), then painting the robots a silvery color.
Here are a few:

I just had a commission to make fifty of them! so I'll be busy...
8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Corentin the sock dog on: March 30, 2011 03:43:26 PM
Corentin was made from the tutorial here: http://www.handmadespark.com/blog/tutorial-single-sock-dog-by-dianna-of-little-black-teapot/
Except that I cheated, and used two socks, since the ones I had
were very short...
He is not as adorable as in the original tutorial, but I like him anyway.

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Léandre, the sock rabbit on: March 30, 2011 03:35:29 PM
Here is my sock rabbit: I use the marvellous tutorial by Jane Avion at http://janeavion.blogspot.com/2009/10/simple-sock-animal.html

Don't you find that kind of sock rabbit particularly nice?

10  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Artémise, the sock lady cat on: March 30, 2011 03:26:01 PM
I  just love love love to make sock creatures!
Here is one, she is named Artémise.

She is adapted from the wonderful book by Miyako Kanamori "Sock and Glove".

Cheers for plushies!
