1  Meet Amethyst, the big scary dragon (img heavy) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by chss on: August 29, 2008 11:10:14 PM
My niece loves dragons. I love my niece. Therefore, I made her a dragon. Grin I looked at all the free dragon patterns, I even checked the horse patterns to see if I could find anything I could tweak. I didn't find anything that looked right to me and wasn't tiny, so I freeformed the dragon instead. It's a little wonky, because I'm still not very familiar with amigurumi. But my niece LOVES it. She named the dragon Amethyst, and sleeps with it every night now.

My niece posing with it shortly after I gave it to her:

An aerial shot.

Other angles.

I couldn't find any sort of pattern online for clawed feet, so I improvised.

I'm proud of it, but it was such a pain to figure out that it'll probably be a long time before I attempt another project like it.
