62  CLOTHING / Shoes: Discussion and Questions / Re: Attempt to paint vans gone wrong:(? on: March 15, 2009 03:32:51 PM
Hmm - have you tried sanding them to get it smoother? Or maybe trying to remove the primer with White Spirit or something like that.  Depending what type of Vans they are, they might be better off without primer?

Just acrylic paint and then sealed them with acrylic varnish Smiley I've never done shoes either, so it was a bit of an experiment, but so far they haven't run in the rain or anything!

Thanks for the nice comments - I was worried that no-one liked them!

I love this board and get such inspiration from it but, ok well, this is my first post and the first pair of shoes I've tried to tart-up, so please don't be too harsh!

So I took an old pair of Converse that were just boringly brown with pink dots (which you can see at the top of the tongue) and made them look like this - please follow links Smiley

Clearly this is only one shoe, but the other one basically looks the same!
Constructive criticism appreciated ( I like them anyway!) Thanks for looking Smiley
