1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / morrissey t-shirt recon on: February 25, 2010 10:49:15 PM
so i work at a salon and one of my co-workers is a HUGE morrissey fan. shse had this t-shirt for a few years and was all bummed cos she could only wear it to bed. it was like 3 sizes too big. so i took it off her hands and turned it into something that fits her. this is my first time setting eyelets but it came out ok. i wont see her till sunday so i dont have any action shots but here is what i do got.

the fabric was just 1 fat quarter i picked up from hancock fabrics for .99 cents

2  COOKING / Dessert / call of duty theme.. (sort of..) on: January 07, 2010 11:56:47 AM
ok so my dh and his friends play on the xbox like every night either halo or call of duty. anywho his friend justin had a b-day and asked me if i would bake him a cake. this is what i came up with. the frosting is a weird mix of orange and green, the "blood" and "river" are made from sugar and corn syrup cooked to a hard crack stage i got the lil green army men from the grocery store toy isle and the birthday flag i just printed out from the computer and stuck a skewer in it. so yeah. c&c always welcome!

ok well incase you did not read the subjest topic i am super poor to the max right now. i can only work 3 days a week at the salon since i dont have a babysitter. so thats not really enough time during the week to collect a lot of tips. plus my 4 year old got really sick and i had to pay 240 bucks CASH for her meds. so that leaves me with... nothing! so i am making everyone shirts for christmas! yay! here are the four that i have finished and i have like 8 more to go! all the shirts are blue with one exception cos the blue shirts were on clearence for .50 cents at a store here in san antonio called fallas. (its like a factory 2 u) so anywho... here are the shirts

for my nephew LJ his first name is loyd

for my friends daughter. the one non blue shirt

for my nephew alex who plays halo 3 odst WAY too much

for my oldest daughter daisy! Were HUGE twilight fans... its a twilight thing you would not understand!

ok so thats it for now. not i gotta keep on making more before thursday night!

so i have 2 girls in elementary school. daisy 6, lilly 4. all week long they have had different themes for keeping kids off drugs. tomorrows theme is "team up against drugs" wear your favorite team t-shirt. well we live in san antonio. the only team t-shirts around are spurs and cowboys. did they want to wear thoose? nope! daddys favorite team is the colts. they want to wear colts. ok here i am 10:00 at night making them colts t-shirts to wear to school tomorrow. Smiley

5  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Princess lolli candyland costume on: October 26, 2009 03:50:41 PM
every year we have a big halloween decorating contest between our salon and all the other 13 stores. we won last year with hairspray as our theme. this year its been a little different. our theme is candyland. each station as a different character from the game. i am going as princess lolly. i still need to do a few small touches like adding the lollipops to the dress and making a crown but here my dress.

i could not find a yellow dress anywhere so i went to thrift town and picked up a full length yellow wool jacket for 5 bucks! after removing the sleves and stiching up the center the rest was easy. i attached a petticoat and a hot pink belt. so anywho thanks for looking
6  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Fairy costume on: September 15, 2009 06:41:03 PM
ok so check it out. i went to the costume store yesterday with my girls (6 and 4) and they had no childrens costumes. they had stripper adult costumes and what seems to be stripper costumes for little people. cos i can tell you they were not in any way appropriate for children. im sorry but i dont think little girls need to dress like that. so whatever i hit up the .99 cent pattern sale and made em myself. i am not totally finished with the second but here is the first.

9  COOKING / Dessert / Ladybug Cake on: July 23, 2009 06:05:54 AM
Ok totally been a while since my last post! im a slacker. but here we go. my daughter lilly. (we call her lilly bug) turned 4 on sat. and she wanted a cake in the shape of a lady bug. so i made her one. i used a 10inch round for the bottom and a dome cake pan for the body of the bug. the "grass" is coconut with green food color. and the head is shaped from marshmallow fondant that i added tons of powder sugar to hold shape. the eyes i used jiggley eyes from the craft store and the antenna i used a pipe cleaner... let me know what you thank...

thanks for looking  Wink

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / way too BIG dracula tee 2 cute dracula tube on: October 08, 2008 06:54:50 PM
i picked this tee up at the PX on post for like 2 bucks last year after halloween. all this time it has been sitting in my closet cos it was like 5 sizes too big. i am thinking about adding some grommet tape in the back and lacing it up like a corset top. let me know what you think.
