1  Re: Fiber Friday - Aug. 7, 2009 in Spinning: Completed Projects by OmniSilence on: August 07, 2009 07:58:52 PM
I love crayon box! What type of fiber is that? (i'm just going to have to go check out that site...)
Congrats on the new bunny (super cute!) and the move! I'm in WA too! Wasn't that heat outrageous?! (I'm a wuss, I like my rain)
I haven't posted anything over here in such a long time, but I've been plotting to buy my first wheel, a sonata, and can't wait to spin on it! Meanwhile, here is what  I have made recently...

Rainbow Party (gift for my mom)

The colored stuff was purchased at a Shepherds Extravaganza from a local farm, 100% Romney and the black is from Sheep shed studio, superwash. Here was a test skein plyed with the black and white mill ends...

Same local farm, 100% Romney single, love it, no clue what to knit -

This was spun for a friend, wish I had better pictures, the sun really brings out some of those wonderful colors (100% Romney) -

Phew! Hope that's not too many pcitures... Grin

FairyAngel - I love those fluffy orange bits mixed in with all of that blue!
Love Moon Jelly! I think Grape Fizz has such beautiful colors! That's such a great variation in A Phoenix Reborn and Spring Has Sprung looks almost too squishy!  Grin

Since I'm such a noob too to spinning, I just wanted to show off this one again - since it's not on my wheel any more...

And here is my very first super coil! I made it by accident and now want to try making more, on purpose!

Ta da! I still have much of the black and white left so I'm thinking of trying my hand at some kool-aid dying soon... Happy Fiber Friday everyone!

Oh! I love Fairies and Dragons and Seaweed! Such great colors!

Well last week I didn't have any pictures with me, but fixed my spinning wheel (yay!) So I'm back at it again.

Black and White - not sure how many yards, first plyed yarn I've made successfully, bought from Sheep Shed Studio and plyed with blue string.

Next up is named Iris - bought from a local farm up here. I actually have two singles that now just need to be plyed together! ...but I really wanted to share it now!  Grin

Hello and Happy Fiber Friday everyone! I mostly just drool at all of the wonderful yarns, but I actually have something to contribute today! This is my first spun single, I wish I could tell you what fiber it is (that way I could get more) but it was a gift from my mom just as I was starting out at this.

This is what I have on my spinning wheel at the moment, not sure what I'm going to do with it eventually though, but it came from the sheep shed studio.

And I absolutly love that white merino plied with the blue crochet thread!
