32  painted parasol in Completed Projects by rachelyra on: February 15, 2005 09:01:02 PM
The parasol came, blank, from chinatown.  i painted it up.  They didn't show so well, but there are tiny rhinestones glued to it, also.

(blurry picture included to show underneath.)

34  intricate marker-tattooed naked ladies. pinup style. in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by rachelyra on: January 26, 2005 10:52:32 PM
i worked on a play that had these two wooden cutouts of naked ladies as part of the scenery - there were also two department-store mannequins.  The cutouts are done, and i've started the mannequins.  couldn't wait to show off, though.

35  braided rag rug in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by rachelyra on: November 17, 2004 05:56:30 PM
originally i had planned to make a real-honest-to-goodness rug, made in the traditional heirloom-y kinda way.

Then i decided to use my hot glue gun instead.

You can't tell from the top, at all.  I assume it means it won't last nearly as long.  I'm not really sure how i'll clean it - and since it lives right by the desk in my studio, it could sure use a cleaning!  still, it's pretty awesome, if i do say so myself.
