1  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Discussion and Questions / yet another newbie question - making a warping board on: August 27, 2008 08:07:10 PM
Any advice anyone could give me would be much appreciated. I bought a loom through Craigslist a little over a year ago, because it was less than a hundred dollars. It looks to be about 50 years old, and possibly home made or from a kit. It's a four harness loom. I've bought some books and have been reading up a bit to try to ease my intimidation, I think weaving might be a bit ambitious for me, but I've always, ALWAYS wanted to do it.

Anyway... I was wondering if anyone could give me some tips about a warping board... is it possible to make one? are there patterns for them? or are there reliable internet sites that sell them? I had been planning on taking a class through the Weaver's Guild, but I've moved too far away to be able to do that, and I don't know any weavers where I now live.

thanks for your help!

Hi!

I moved back to Red Deer in April, but just found this message board yesterday. My friend N and I were thinking of starting a stitchn'bitch group this fall, if one doesn't already exist.

Also, I'm trying to learn how to weave (I got a good deal on a loom about a year ago, and as it has always been a bit of a dream, I couldn't turn it down) but I don't have a warping board... does anyone know of any weaving resources in the Central Alberta area?

blah blah blah, anyway...

HI!!!
