Thanks Mom!
Knitting's not that hard - I could teach you sometime - very relaxing.
944  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Jester style knit hat! on: January 25, 2010 10:00:19 AM
I got this pattern from the Lion Brand Website (but can't find the pattern to link to it right now).  It took me about 1.5 months to do, mostly because I thought I bought enough yarn, yadda yadda yadda.  I made it using the berry colored yarn from Deborah Norville's line.  It's basically knit in the round, then you separate off for the peaks.  Anyway, I finished it yesterday. It's a bit heavy because of all the peaks to it.  I live in So Cal, so not sure if I will ever get to wear it.

I started working on the first layout and have ideas for the second.  Best wishes to everyone for a creative weekend!
946  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Mini sweater for my bear! on: January 19, 2010 11:14:29 AM
I've been knitting for about a year now, and I wanted to do a few things: 1, stash bust, 2, practice knitting and 3, make my cold bear a sweater.  Smiley
I decided to do this pattern out of the book "Knits for Bears to Wear".  It was pretty easy and quick, and used up 1 whole skein I had!  I only had to frog it once Smiley

It's basically a rib pattern, k3, p3.
There are other cute patterns in the book that I might try to help me learn new techniques on small projects.

947  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Padres baseball blanket on: January 19, 2010 11:10:08 AM
I love the San Diego Padres!  I can't wait for baseball season to start!  But since it's too cold for baseball right now, I made a blanket.  It was from a Crochet Today magazine (the pattern was for a baby blanket, but I just made it bigger). I also crocheted long pieces then sewed them on to make the letters. The colors are the Padres colors.

As you can see, my dog has to get into everything and will probably claim this blanket like he has every other one I've made!
948  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Squeaky Jellyfish! on: January 19, 2010 11:05:34 AM
My dog loves toys with lots of limbs- octopus, etc. He also loves to play with toys I make him out of polar fleece (I think he likes my smell on it and thinks he's chewing on me!). I made him this jellyfish - and made sure to sew the legs on extra good!  He loves it!  He chases it when you throw it and he has already slimified it!

Here it is before he got it all gooey...

Action shot of him mauling it's head (where the squeaker is).

949  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Yeti with a latte on: January 19, 2010 11:00:42 AM
I've been on an Urban Threads embroidery kick lately - most of the things I've done have been from their patterns. Here is a Yeti drinking a latte (or hot chocolate for me, since I don't drink coffee!). I decided since it's a little cool here that I should put him on a sweatshirt.

Here he is, sipping away!
