1  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Re: I've been destashing...anyone want some 'free' craft stuff? on: August 26, 2013 01:39:09 PM
Hello all,

I've been destashing some more since that last post so the box is now even more full of crafty things. Anyone interested?

Waaah that is so spooky! I was only thinking the other day that I should probably put my latest box of (house-move-induced) destashing on here. I didn't know whether to resurrect the old thread or not but took some pictures about a week ago in preparation. So it is a bit weird that you've resurrected it for me Cheesy

Here's the latest lot - fabric, ribbons, beads, whatever else I've thrown in there!

As before I'd just like to be reimbursed for postage (about 7 last time) if that's OK and I'm allowed to say it on here! Smiley
3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Quilled Paper Earrings - New Spring Designs on: March 20, 2013 01:10:30 PM
These are amazing! I'd never even have thought of making quilled jewellery. They are so pretty and bright and unusual Smiley

Thank you for the lovely comments! Smiley

@dustyfro, I saw those Royal Ascot ladies as I was Google Image searching for Quality Street ideas and inspiration, their outfits were very impressive! They did help to inspire me a bit too.

@tiffi_333 I like to be a bit different when it comes to fancy dress and I figured that it was pretty much guaranteed that no-one would even have thought of this idea, let alone made it! There were a number of elves/Santas etc so it was nice to stand out a bit Smiley

Thank you all for the lovely comments *blush*  Kiss
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Animal-themed stitched decorations for a nursery on: March 11, 2013 01:51:44 PM

Now that I've handed these over to my expectant friends, I can post them up on the internet!

They're expecting a girl and her nursery is decorated in pale yellows, greens and blues, with an animal theme. Both her parents love animals so I think she's probably going to grow up to be a zoologist or something! I offered to make a couple of things to go in the nursery and got a bit carried away Smiley

I basically stalked my friend's Pinterest for ideas! She'd pinned this (discontinued?) fox fabric on Spoonflower:

So I made some bunting:

and a felt fox stuffie (I love him so much I might have to make one for myself!):

I made three cushion covers:

An elephant hoop (the mother-to-be loves elephants):

And two mini (4"?) hoops featuring their cats (with little black seed beads for eyes) Smiley

My friends were very pleased with my creations (and I am very pleased to have a rest - for the time being!) Smiley

7  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: MLP: Hearts and Hooves Day Swap (S.U. 1/1-1/12~S.O. 2/7) on: January 02, 2013 12:50:09 PM
I'll be keeping an eye on this swap but won't be participating this time, unless you get another British or European person that you need a partner for. Happy crafting everyone! Smiley
8  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Quality Street costume on: December 29, 2012 02:40:07 PM
I don't know if Quality Street chocolates are sold anywhere else other than the UK, but if not, they're a quintessentially Christmassy selection of foil and cellophane wrapped chocolates in an octagonal purple tin. For my office Christmas party this year, the theme was 'Christmas' so instead of going as an elf or a reindeer or something similar, I decided to mix it up and go as Quality Streets! But, I didn't want to go as one particular chocolate, or the octagonal tin, so I decided to go as all of the chocolates!

Instead of using actual chocolates on my costume (thereby running the risk of melting and even theft of the chocolates by my greedy colleagues) I got my dad to carve foam into the same shapes as the chocolates, wrapped them in ordinary household foil, and then wrapped them in cellophane wrappers from actual Quality Streets (I've been hoarding them for years, mostly because they're brightly coloured and shiny Wink )

I made a headdress:

And a necklace with a Quality Street logo for the avoidance of all doubt as to what I was supposed to be:

And managed to find a dress in exactly the right shade of purple on eBay and stitched some of the fake chocolates to it:

More indepth info and pictures on my blog if you're interested Smiley

Hope you like it!

9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic OAT Swap Gallery on: November 08, 2012 02:56:29 PM
Woooo so the postal service finally got its act together and I received my package from dreadlady over here in Blighty.

First up, a cool box decorated in the style of Luna's cutie mark, with lashings of glitter!

And inside, another, smaller box decorated with Rainbow Dash's cutie mark:

And, inside that, a tiny pair of pale purple button earrings!

The piece de resistance, a tote bag decorated with Crackle the dragon! I love his facial expression Cheesy

Also, a couple of extras in the form of a sheet of stickers, and a mystery pony bag thing containing Fluttershy (with a Rainbow Dash haircut) Wink

Thank you dreadlady! And apologies for living across the Atlantic and taking ages to receive the parcel Smiley

Am I the last one.. again?!  Embarrassed

As I've said to dreadlady, I've got all kinds of exciting international post headed my way, and none of it has arrived yet. I expect it'll all turn up at the same time, just when I've given up being patient! Smiley
