I've got two thoughts if you want to display it and don't mind adding more embroidery.  Since you've already got the cassette tape, you could add the ribbon tape and make it more interesting.

I've never re-used an ice cream container before, but my mother used to cut the pictures out of tea boxes, add a tassel, and make bookmarks.  http://www.herbalayur.com/uploads/TE256.jpg  Of course, you'd have to cut up the box.

I can't imagine trying to punch holes first while imagining what it will look like...it turned out wonderful!  I love seeing needlework in unexpected places. 

I actually designed a rough outline using Gimp (free Photoshop-like program) and used that to place all the punches.  Believe me, I would've gone crazy without it! :p

I had to buy a new planner recently, but the plain blue cover was just too boring.  What do you think?



Punching all those holes was a bit of a pain, but I like the end effect!  It was a bit difficult using more complicated stitches, but I think the buttonhole stitch adds a nice dimension

Recently (ish), I made these as a surprise gift for the boyfriend.  He liked finding them all over the place (jacket pockets, under a pillow, etc.) and I got to use up yarn scraps!
