1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: What should I do with this? on: September 08, 2010 01:20:15 PM
I've got two thoughts if you want to display it and don't mind adding more embroidery.  Since you've already got the cassette tape, you could add the ribbon tape and make it more interesting.

I love your work so far though!  Hope that helps!

2  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: really pretty ice cream container on: June 29, 2010 03:49:51 PM
I've never re-used an ice cream container before, but my mother used to cut the pictures out of tea boxes, add a tassel, and make bookmarks.  http://www.herbalayur.com/uploads/TE256.jpg  Of course, you'd have to cut up the box.

Good luck!

Hey!

Your dress is too cute!  I saw the same video a few days ago and wasn't so sure...  But I love your dress!  Do you have any photos of the back?

7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Embroidered Planner on: May 06, 2010 06:13:13 PM
Thanks for all the compliments!

I can't imagine trying to punch holes first while imagining what it will look like...it turned out wonderful!  I love seeing needlework in unexpected places.  Smiley

I actually designed a rough outline using Gimp (free Photoshop-like program) and used that to place all the punches.  Believe me, I would've gone crazy without it! :p

8  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Embroidered Planner on: April 28, 2010 03:37:40 PM
I had to buy a new planner recently, but the plain blue cover was just too boring.  What do you think?

Punching all those holes was a bit of a pain, but I like the end effect!  It was a bit difficult using more complicated stitches, but I think the buttonhole stitch adds a nice dimension

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knitted Hearts on: April 27, 2010 08:37:39 AM
Recently (ish), I made these as a surprise gift for the boyfriend.  He liked finding them all over the place (jacket pockets, under a pillow, etc.) and I got to use up yarn scraps!

The pattern's available on Ravelry ("Little Hearts") or from the author's own page: http://ourknitalong.blogspot.com/  (In the sidebar.)

(More details on my blog as well.)

Enjoy!

Too cute!  (The boyfriend saw your post over my shoulder and loves it as well!)
