1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / giant shopping bag/purse! on: April 11, 2011 07:29:51 AM
I sewed this bag this past weekend...first bag ever! it turned out so well i made a second one for my mom. it was originally made from a simplicity pattern for a bag that folds up into a pouch but i made the pouch too small and the bag wouldnt fit. it doesn't matter though as i have fallen so deeply in love with the bag that i carry it everywehre and never put it away!

hope you like it ... c & c welcome !

2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / imagine all the people....creating art this way.... on: April 05, 2011 06:40:20 AM
I found a painting in the street,
In shades of red it looked incomplete,

I grabbed a pen and started to write,
When it was done it was quite a sight.

3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / A Couple Small and fun embroideries on: March 06, 2011 10:33:51 AM
Decided to start stitching again...so whipped up these two cute lil designs. Both very simple but still fun! I think I will frame them and hang them in my new place as I am moving in a few weeks !

4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Beer - Tab Purse on: March 06, 2011 10:26:05 AM
I made this last summer....it literally took all summer as I was going batty linking tabs so had to take breaks here and there. I wasn't really too happy with how it turned out (but I am my biggest critic). After tossing it finished but unlined into the closet for a few months my boyfriends told me I should be proud of it and finish it. So a couple of weeks ago I whipped up the lining and I am actually pretty proud of it now. I don't use it much, but I think come summer it will become a great accessory. Only thing is I cannot take it anywhere without a million comments lol!

Enjoy!

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Led Zepplin T-Shirt becomes Pillow on: December 28, 2010 12:34:02 PM
So my boyfriends favorite zepplin shirt is so *holy* he can no longer wear it. So after buying a replacement I took the old one and made it into a pillow he can keep forever! The shirt was 2 sided so its a 2 sided pillow uping its coolness level even higher haha ! I got a brand new sewing machine for christmas and decided this was an easy project to try out its functions on Smiley Super simple took no time and he loves it Smiley Yay!

8  COOKING / Dessert / Candy Sushi Anyone!? on: October 05, 2009 05:11:59 PM
I found this recipe online...I was just stumbling around and there it was. I thought about it day and night, night and day for a week. As soon as I got paid I ran to the store and got the *goods*. I used different coloured fruit roll ups then the girl did, and I found a few techniques that worked much better for me and was very very proud of the finished product! I wasn't sure how well people would like them, mom said they rock but mom gets paid to say that haha....but people on the bus, at work and the boyfriend all agreed! Super cute ! Super fun! Though I only ate one or two I really found them not overly sweet and very good and the boyfriend ate like 10!!

Enjoy! If you need the site I got em from just let me know!

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / can you help figure out string/voodoo dolls with me? on: July 14, 2009 09:25:21 AM
I was at the movies a few days back and one of those toonie machines they had these adorable string dolls. They were called voodoo dolls on the sign, but I remember them as string/worry dolls as a kid. I bought one despite knowing it was far too over priced and now I am attempting to find a tutorial online. I have no info as of yet, and was curious if any of you fine crafters had made these or could help figure them out with me. Heres a site that sells them!!
Thanks!

10  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / filling in entire sections of embroidery (sorry if this is a repeat question) on: September 24, 2008 12:33:09 PM
after searching the forum i cant find my answer so i hope this hasnt been asked before..and if it has...i apoligize.

i have done some embroidery in the past....just an outline of a picture on fabric (see my heat pack for example in finished needlework forum) and thats easy.

i however want to do a picture on black broadcloth. sections of the picture need to be filled in entirely white. i was wondering if there is a way to go about doing this without painting the sections in after outline stitching...or tinting with crayons. there must be a way to completely colour a block (say a circle filled entirely in white) with stitches but how?
any advice
tips
tricks
help
is really appretiated i could use anything!
thanks in advance!
