1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / giant shopping bag/purse! on: April 11, 2011 07:29:51 AM
I sewed this bag this past weekend...first bag ever! it turned out so well i made a second one for my mom. it was originally made from a simplicity pattern for a bag that folds up into a pouch but i made the pouch too small and the bag wouldnt fit. it doesn't matter though as i have fallen so deeply in love with the bag that i carry it everywehre and never put it away!

hope you like it ... c & c welcome !

actually its a silver sharpie. i work at grand and toy (the american sister company would be office max) and we sell them for about 5 dollars . its just like a regular sharpie...but silver. i highly recommend getting one as they come in quite handy...just a tip they do tend to be a little faint on some surfaces when you first start writing...so for projects like this one i wrote the first two lines and by the third when it was super shiny and flowing well i went back and re traced the fainter ones.

I found a painting in the street,
In shades of red it looked incomplete,

I grabbed a pen and started to write,
When it was done it was quite a sight.

Decided to start stitching again...so whipped up these two cute lil designs. Both very simple but still fun! I think I will frame them and hang them in my new place as I am moving in a few weeks !

Second is my favorite Pillz-e squirrel quote (illwillpress.com):

I made this last summer....it literally took all summer as I was going batty linking tabs so had to take breaks here and there. I wasn't really too happy with how it turned out (but I am my biggest critic). After tossing it finished but unlined into the closet for a few months my boyfriends told me I should be proud of it and finish it. So a couple of weeks ago I whipped up the lining and I am actually pretty proud of it now. I don't use it much, but I think come summer it will become a great accessory. Only thing is I cannot take it anywhere without a million comments lol!

Enjoy!

this is awesome ! i am a huge koh fan. i have been dabbling in embroidery lately as well. how do u get such a full area (say her hair for example) ? what kind of stitch do u use for filler? i am great at outlines but have yet to figure out the *colouring* in a section u seem to have mastered!
