21  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: all you need is love, i mean, a beatles quilt on: August 24, 2008 10:47:13 AM
Very nice, colorful, and happy. Not all quilts have to be labor intensive.

Very nice.

I should do something small. I usually get started with giant blankets or bedspreads. They do take so long to finish up and I actually feel they are more frustrating to quilt. Often I have more then one going at once. Sometimes I can almost get to hating the quilt before I finish it. This makes it difficult to keep plugging along on it.

What do you plan on doing with your doll quilts?

You certainly walked the extra mile. I think most people would have been content to just stitch in the ditch.

Don't fuss too much about a little bubble on the back or a slight non matching intersection. Life's too short. Relax and enjoy your love of sewing/quilting.

Not too long ago I was fussing to a good friend of mine about some small  imperfections on a quilted project. Her response was: " A quilt is like life, it's not perfect."

Now when I see something that bothers me about one of my projects, I smile to myself and think of her and how right she was.

Yes, make sure you take several pictures with the "kids" wearing their shirts.   Smiley

I love to make up scrap afghans. I love the texture you added.

And do you have a favorite "people"?

My son loved the little dog , but my daughters were firm lovers of the one they call "pot head".

(I have a box of FP people left in my basement. They were sooo loved by my children and then my grandchildren.

I think he inspired a lot of people to pick up paint brushes who wouldn't have thought they had an ounce of artistic ability. The " I think I can" philosophy is maybe half the battle.

I'm jealous, I never could write poetry. When I would be forced to attempt to do so in school, the results were always disastrous. And your crafts were right on, too.

Do you have a picture of the entire blanket. I'd like to see that.

Peonies are one of my all time favorite flowers. I do so miss them since I moved here to the islands. Here I have to settle for Hibiscus. When I go back to NJ in the spring I am always planting more peonies, but I never get to see them bloom. Maybe I should have my daughter do up some for me on her machine. Smiley
