these are really cute! 

I was wanting a new crossbody bag so I used my pattern here, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=298929.0 but made a few changes.
I made the bag bigger, rounded the corners and used a snap intead of a zipper for the top closure. It's about 111/2 x 13 1/2. It has a zipper pocket on
one side and a slip pocket on one side with a snap and a main center compartment.

It's a small bag, about 9 3/4" x 11". but you could always make it bigger.

It was time for a new bag so I made this using Simplicity # 2243. I didn't quite go by the instructions.
I made the pockets a little different, added snaps and quilted my own fabric.

I made this pink patchwork tote for a christmas gift. It has a pocket on each side , 2 pockets inside and a zipped top.

What a wonderful way to use your fabric from your dad's shirts. Congratulations on getting the sewing machine and great job on your bag.
