but modified to use the full images on the front and back (one on each hip), so sewing only the crotch seam, inseam, and waistband...

Then I took it one step further for my little guy. I cut up the side from the feet to the hip, added a strip of fabric, sewed the seam flat, then 'fringed' it. The belt buckle was from some belt buckle fabric, just cut and appliqued.

And then one more change with a wider tummy hugging waist band (wide elastic) in a contrasting fabric--more like a belt

He has gone around in public with these and had some pretty good feedback. All I care about is that he loves them (I will be making more as doing laundry every 2 days is getting old)!
