11  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / promotional trinkets for biz on: September 25, 2003 05:56:40 AM
I'm always looking for trinkets (pencils, buttons, stickers or something different) that can be imprinted with my business name that I can include with my orders or give away at various functions.  I'd prefer ones that allow you to order in lots smaller than 1000 or even 500.

also, I look for companies that have above average customer service and are able to communicate the approximate lead time and shipping date on orders and/or reply to emails when I inquire as to the whereabouts of my order when it's past the estimated arrival date.  I've had some frustration with a couple of places in the past over this.

So let me know what's working for you!
12  Ohio / Ohio: Southwest / Cincinnati area stores on: September 12, 2003 06:39:13 AM
I'm so excited to see another Ohioian here - that makes at least 4 of us here!!   Cheesy

I'm just going to list the mass retailers (I imagine most have websites) that I go to for one reason or another related to my projects.  Some places have better selection that others, but it just depends on what I need:
Joann's
Michaels
Hobby Lobby
Hancok
Franks Nursey
Garden Ridge
Target
Meijer
Wal-mart (in a complete pinch)
Home Depot
Office Max
Staples

13  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Decorating your First Apartment on: September 12, 2003 06:20:40 AM
by Paige Gilchrist.

It's a source of inspiration if you want to decorate your place but have landlord restrictions like no nails or paint on the walls.

The titles of her other books look like they're at least worth a browse for ideas when at the bookstore ... etching and painting glass, cardmaking, arranging photos, artwork on your walls and the weekend crafter.
14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / stem glass markers on: September 04, 2003 08:18:02 PM
I wanted create glass markers, but I wasn't too keen on the pewter charms so I made some from shrinky dink paper for inkjet printers.

15  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Coffee Tins, Glass Jars, Plastic Containers on: August 15, 2003 07:00:17 PM
Ever since I asked my parents to save a few throw-aways I've gotten a quite a bit stored up and I'm looking for new ideas!

I've got:
*coffee tins (regular and jumbo sizes)
*glass jars (salsa, pickle, baby food)
*gallon plastic tubs (that ice cream came in)
*amber prescription bottles

I've covered a few coffee tins with ribbons and candy wrapper to use as packaging for gifts. I've made 7 candles out of the glass jars. I've stored beads and such in the prescription bottles.

I'd love to get some other ideas for items I can create and keep on-hand for last minute gifts since I tend to forget to plan in advance :-/

Any help is greatly appreciated!
