21  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Lap Quilts For All Swap- Round 4! CLOSED! on: January 12, 2009 08:14:26 AM
I have 3 sewn and mostly the rest cut up ready to be sewn. Trying to get some done this week before school starts again:-)

Slight problem...I was looking at gordon girls blog and I saw that rita had made the woven ribbons block. I have her fabric cut out for this one as well. I cut it weeks ago and never sewed it. Gordon Girl- do you mind 2 of the same block?

Not at all!  Go for it, I am participating in 2 groups with the same colorway, so it's not a prob at all.  Thanks for asking.
Cheers,
Dionne

Also, My Monday report.
I've got three more blocks cut, one finished and not photographed or sent.  But I plan to be very diligent now that everything is back to normal from the holidays!

Hey all,  I am SO loving how my blocks are turning out, that I thought this would be one of my entries this year at the Sisters Quilt Show in Oregon ( http://www.sistersoutdoorquiltshow.org)

So I am asking
         1) permission, and
         2) if you are OK with this, how would you like your name to read on the label?

Now, Obviously I haven't finished the quilt yet so any number of things could go wrong and this won't happen.  But no pressure here, if you don't want to be included; let me know.

Hey Libby, I was reading one of my regular blogs and she put a picture of a quilt she made inspired by someone else  ~ YOU, I followed the link only to find YOUR BLOG!

How fun is that!  The internet is such a small place sometimes.

I have received the most beautiful blocks!!

    • LouraPalmr  - I love how this block turned out, very angular and your choice of how to use my fabrics really sets off the pattern so well!
    • Poerava - I love the way this block appears to be woven!  I love patterns with simple lines.
    • whoopdedoo_5 - Sent me 2 beautiful stars.  I love how they are both unique but work so well together!  They each highlight different fabrics in my selection!  Thank you!   You've also done such a great job getting all of Audrey1999's fabrics into your block for her!  I'm afraid I didn't manage that, but my blocks for her will work so well with the ones you've created!
    • KRB - This Army Star pattern is perfect.  It really looks great with my fabrics.
    • RitaPizza - the points on this block are even more perfect in person!  Hard to believe I know!  Really stunning

I am SO SO glad I decided to participate in two groups, you guys are AWESOME!!!

    Cheers,
    Dionne

I haven't sewn anything yet, you might need to check your list of blocks Cheesy

Uh Oh!  Here I thought I was being so good at my record keeping!
     Huh

I got a beautiful block from Whoopdedo this week.  I made a block for GordonGirl that ended up being too small.  Fortunately, I have plenty of fabric left to make a different one.  Merry Christmas, everyone!

I'm so sorry you were having difficulties with my block!  Please don't stress too much, kick your feet up and enjoy the holidays!
    Cheers!

Monday, Monday La la la la la      Monday Monday,  Report
Actually, it's sunday, but monday is a very busy day for me most of the time, so sunday works better.

    Anyhow, here it is:

    I have made blocks for:  J_Q_Adams, Audrey1999 (two blocks - group 1 and 2) and for Klum78

    I mailed blocks to J_Q_Adams and Klum78

I posted pictures on pg 3.

I'm finishing a block for ChinaRockFishAKM

That's it, but I'll be AWOL for a little more than a week now, but please don't distress.  I'm not gone forever!

    Cheers and Happy Holidays!

I added a picture of the block I made for Klum78.

I know that Glittergirl is making a friendship star block, and normally I wouldn't duplicate a pattern, but I started cutting out the block I had planned to make ~ only to discover I was about a 1/4" short of the fabric needed.  But by that time I had already started cutting your fabrics.  So I had to figure out what I could make with the pieces cut and with the remaining fabrics.

I hope you aren't too disappointed!!   Cry  I also ended up with some bonus 3.5" half square triangles with your fabrics though, if you can use them let me know.  I'll send them along with your block and leftover fabrics!

Rita, another amazing block from you for gordongirl!  Everyone's fabrics are looking so nice already, but I'm especially enjoying gordongirl's -- great job selecting coordinating fabrics!  I'm also excited to work on MareMare's ... blacks and whites are somewhat out of my comfort zone,...

Rita, I quite agree with John, that block you did for me is really beautiful!  And thanks John for the Kudos on my fabric, I had a lot of fun picking it out!

I love all the blocks posted so much!  Since I've been doing so much Christmas stuff lately, it's great to get a break and see all the great stuff posted!  I'll be dedicated to this swap soon... well, fairly soon!
    Cheers!
