1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Pattern Swap on: February 28, 2009 10:03:52 PM
I don't know if this has been done before but a few of us were talking about it on another thread

I figured it could be set up like an ongoing swap so you get to pick which patterns you want. On the other hand, some of them would prefer to have clothes made from the pattern(s) that they send so I guess that should be included in the questionnaire.

Any ideas/suggestions? Is anyone else up for this?
2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Cards and an envelope by my sister (4 pics) on: February 19, 2009 09:15:35 PM
My sister is quite into paper crafts but she will never upload her creations herself so I decided to upload some for her Grin There are lots more but I could only find pictures of these from her folder

This is an envelope she decorated to put a card she made for her friend who left for Australia to continue her studies Smiley

This is the card that was inside! The "puzzle pieces" are for her other friends to write their messages. There was a removable plastic backing thinghy behind to put a photo.

This is a thank you card she made for another friend.

Thanks for looking!! Comments and criticism will be appreciated Smiley

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / What should I make with this fabric? on: January 30, 2009 05:10:06 AM
I bought 2 meters of some gorgeous cotton sateen a while ago and I had so many ideas for it but none of them seemed right Sad

So I'm here to ask all you wonderful craftsters for some help! Please give me some suggestions as to what to use this gorgeous fabric for! Please forgive the quality of the photos. I used my phone camera Smiley

I have 1 meter of the navy blue which I thought would go quite well with the patterned fabric Smiley

I'll try to upload better photos if I can get 'em

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My Red Prom Dress aka The Faviana Prom Dress Wannabe on: December 23, 2008 07:07:01 AM
Having only sewn ONE article of clothing before this, I had this incredibly "smart" idea to sew my prom dress (mistake number 1)! Instead of going safe with a basic tube dress or shift dress, I also decided to make my dress look like the one here http://www.edressmeprom.com/prom6216.html# (mistake number 2). Except I changed all the curves to angles Grin

So after a whole ton of sweat and late nights (I started a little more than a week before - with NO pattern) and help from my mum - she helped me hem the skirt and sew on the hooks and eyes (because I don't know where to get invisible zippers and even if I did I don't own an invisible zipper foot) because I got lazy Tongue - here's my dress!

Oh, and I only have these not very good photos because the camera died on me!!!!

Okay, I admit that's not the best picture of the front but the other pictures make me look fat Tongue
Here's a closer look at the top (with my really really pretty friend Cheesy)

Leave your comment (good or bad!) Cheesy

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Strapless Dress with Scalloped Hem on: November 17, 2008 12:30:27 AM
This is the first article of clothing i have ever made and I kinda copied the idea from this post http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=176901.0 by buckleup. The only thing I did different was to add a zipper.

Please ignore my weird facial expression and fat arms Tongue

Comments and criticism appreciated Smiley

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / how to sew/make mandarin collar? on: November 02, 2008 02:10:31 AM
I want to make a wrap dress with a mandarin collar (something like the dress here : http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=97033.0 ). I think I should be able to figure out how to make the main dress pattern but I am completely clueless about the mandarin collar! Are there any tutorials available? Can someone help point me in the right direction?

Okay, I'm only in the middle of my first swap but is there any interest in this? I thought it would be nice if someone could craft something for my sister  Grin
