1  So incredibly proud! My first dress designed by me! in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by Skipparoonie on: March 06, 2012 04:12:13 PM
I have to brag! I'm so proud of me! I wanted a lovely summer dress, and didn't want to go out and buy a pattern. I wanted something comfortable yet pretty. So I whipped up this baby! WDYT?

*please forgive my nasty photography, but I had no one to help me take a picture, and I've been meaning to post this for ages.*

Details:
The black with white dots top is shirred, it has a small ruffle at the top and bottom. I did ruffled straps as well. The skirt is sort of shirred into the top to give it a bit of give. It doesn't look like it in the picture, but the top is very flattering, making me look flat on my tummy (soooo not the case!) and accentuates my hourglass waist.

I'm a looooooong time stalker and admirer of all you ladies who sew your own stuff, and I wished I had the guts to have a go.
Well I finally did!!! I got sick of paying through the teeth for curvy clothes, and being height challenged, nothing fit me nice anyway - so I had a go at making something....

This pattern is Simplicity 2657.

What do you think?
