1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Deer Girl - Painting on a Vintage Book Page on: April 17, 2009 03:04:23 PM
So this is my first little painting I have tried like this.  It is on a page from a book from 1918, called the Lure of Music. (love the title Smiley)  I got it at the thrift store for $3!  I used acrylics and a bit of marker.
It for sure isn't perfect, but I am liking the way it turned out...

And a little bit of a close up

Here it is in a framed, the mat is just the cardboard painted with brown acrylic for a cool rustic kind of look, but you cant really tell in the pic.  All the colors turned out a little distorted.

I am not sure how i feel about this frame.  You cant see it too well here but it is  just a frame from the thrift store i got for $1.  Maybe i will frame it in something without glass so it has a little less of a finished look, or a lighter frame...
