So read about this in the Big Ass Book Of Crafts and decided to try...

TADA!!!

Right to left...Mary, Kelly, Rebekah, and Kenny

And this is just me

I made them for my mom for mothers day and the "mat" is a page ripped out of a book.

Now, I buy A LOT of cheap books from thrift stores and i got mixed up and ripped pages out of "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash" which i hadn't read yet. Turns out it is my moms favorite book! so yeah...I'm pretty awesome!

Oh yeah if the pics don't work here are some links:

7  Re: "Starry Night" looks even better at night! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by KellyBoBelly on: September 08, 2008 12:57:00 PM
I will make a tute soon. In the meantime here is a quick summary. Wink

TUTE IS HERE!!!!

Here is a pic of everything you will need...

Picture frame, glue, cardborad (if you use USPS boxes make sure they are not new. they tend to get mad about that) a night light, and an extention cord.

So, you take a picture frame and take the back piece off of it. Stick a picture in it that has been printed on regular printer paper (so the light shows through).  Put dots of clear glue in the corners to hold it to the glass.

Now take the back part and make cardboard "sides" to glue around it.

Now cut a hole in the back piece and stick a night light through, so that the only thing sticking out of the back of the back piece is the plug.

Plug it in with a short extention cord. And glue the frame to the front.

Then you have fabulousness!!! Grin

Hope you like! If you make one, Please post post pics!

8  Manly Gothic Chair for Rocker BF? in Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions by KellyBoBelly on: September 03, 2008 11:57:57 AM
OK, so my hardcore rocker bf and I have just moved into a smaller apt.

Soooo...we have to share our craft and music room.  Cry

He is even more bummed than i am about this because i am a huge slob and my craft room HAS to be a wreck for me to think.

So, my mom is giving us this chair. (a regular living room chair) and i want to make it into a goth chair for him to cheer him up and make the room feel like it is his too.

I was thinking like something out of a Poe poem.

The chair we are getting is similar to this:

So, i would need to reupholster it, but I'm not sure what would be "dark" enough.

I really want something that looks like a vampire would sit in?  Huh

I don't know. But you guys amaze me every day with your creativity, so PLEASE help!

9  "Starry Night" looks even better at night! Tutorial Added!! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by KellyBoBelly on: September 03, 2008 11:29:33 AM
For tute scroll Down!!!

I am WAY into lighting. Perhaps too much?  Wink

I wanted a nite light sort of thing for my living room because I hate watching TV in the pitch dark and i needed a dim lamp.

SO I made a little glowing "Starry Night"

I know the pics leave something to be desired, but its hard to take a picture in the dark!   Wink
Let me know what you think!
