31  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Purse/Diaper bag & Sippy Cup holder on: September 02, 2008 03:02:18 PM

This is my second attempt at a purse/diaper bag.  I own way too many store bought diaper bags because I cannot find the right one.  This one turned out ok but I should have made it taller/deeper.  My mom loves it and I am thinking of giving it to her.

Front

Side cell phone pocket

Back

Inside side sippy cup holder (elastic band) - -If I give to my mom she will use this to hold her glasses case.

Inside lining - reminds me of Chinese Cloisonne

Inside pockets, with section for keys, wallet, pen &  pen

Straps (sorry for the crappy pic)

Comments good & bad are appreciated!

32  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Discussion and Questions / Pearls ~ Real or Fake???? on: September 01, 2008 09:17:08 AM
My mother-in-law passed away from breast cancer last year.  I inherited all of the jewelry her daughters did not want in an old jewelry box.  Vintage finds galore!!  They are not into that stuff but I was excited to get the goods.  She wore all kinds of costume jewelry, very little "real" stuff.  This jewelry box was actually her mother's which is from 1910-1920.

Aside from coming across her baby bracelet and my father-in-law' Air Force ring, I came across a few pearls necklaces.  I am clueless as to what are real and what are fake.  Some of them are falling apart and I want to restring them.  I wouldn't mind making a bracelet or earring to match.  Anyone with any suggestions or knowledge.  I can post pics if you think it will help.

Thanks for your time.
33  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Zoo pictures!!!!!! on: August 25, 2008 06:32:49 AM
I am breaking my craftster virginity by adding my first topic!!!

Photography is not on the top of the list of things I like to do/create.  My husband, son and I went to the zoo yesterday and the flowers were full in bloom.  I couldn't help but take a whole bunch of pics.

All pics are true and untouched!!!!!  I did nothing to them.  There are so many but I thought I would post a few.  I have a regular digital camera and I finally figured out some of the more advanced settings.

Enjoy!  Let me know your thoughts
