Wooo red line! This is awesome; I love the T. I am inspired.

Okay, went out to buy an SD card reader so I could post some pictures of my loot.

First, an excellent tote bag:

Second, a dice bag, which I asked for; a wire-wrapped d10 necklace (so happy! I always covet dice jewelry, and d10s are by far my favorite dice) another very cool necklace, which looks like a Necklace of Missiles, although my roommate suggests it might be a necklace of fireballs; an adorable yarn Fireball. Adorable!

And third, I was completely surprised to pull out a figure who is unmistakably my Mage character. I told bethanael that I've been playing more World of Darkness recently, rather than D+D, and she was kind enough to read my long ramble about my character and craft accordingly. He even came with two outfits,  since his main thing is conflict between his mage life and normal life...

Thanks, Bethanael! I really enjoyed swapping with you!
3  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: D&D Swap Round 2 Sign ups 3/1/12 - 3/16/12 Send out 4/16/12 Extended to 4/23/12 on: April 25, 2012 05:58:15 AM
Sent my package this morning! Part of it ended up being as badass as intended, part of it came out unintentionally very cute. It was hard to part with.

Exciting, now I will eagerly check for boxes...

Extra time is quite necessary and appreciated. Started one of the main items yesterday night and I'm really pleased about it. It's going to be difficult to give away because it's shaping up to be one of the best [  ] that I've done...

Last weekend I went to PAX (big gaming convention). Pertinent to this swap, I tried a cool D+D-flavored strategy board game called Lords of Waterdeep, and I played a one-shot of the roleplaying game Mouse Guard. Mouse guard is this awesome mix of gory and adorable, because you are all tiny mice with swords. Not really like Redwall, because the size difference between mice and others is emphasized rather than downplayed.

(needless to say, no crafting occurred that weekend. But it was fun...and I may have picked up something there for my partner...)

Still thinking about what to make. My partner has the most badass character; must do her justice.

I also got into D+D through Baldur's Gate! (And then through Icewind Dale, and Neverwinter Nights...)

Yep, I used Haley as a model for the archer, although she became blond to look like the friend I gave it to.
I haven't read weregeek; will have to check it out.

Just filled out my questionnaire. Glad the send out date got moved back because grad school is crushing at the moment. But roleplaying keeps me sane, so I should do some crafts in its honor. I'm glad this swap is happening!

Here's an alignment craft to get people in the mood (am I linking to my own cross stitch? Um...yes. Yes I am. But my Neutral Good friend has it framed and hanging up in her room, so I'm very happy about it.)

I would almost certainly participate in this swap. Oddly, I've made dice bags for other people and my own dice live in a ziploc bag.
9  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Mug Rug Swap R2 Gallery on: October 17, 2011 07:32:56 PM
Oh no, the back is not meant to be shown to the world at large; it is totally not reversible!

I tried to make the gnome drink out of a blue delft mug (my impression of one, anyway) as you said you were using that theme in your kitchen. Also note the semi-invisible quilted mushroom and a half in the background.

I received from faemystique a few days ago (such a speedy crafter!)

This mug rug is INCREDIBLE. Exactly what I wanted; perfect colors, awesome decorative embroidery, caffeine molecule (science!), and a circle indicating where to put my mug (key feature of a mug rug!)

I brought it to work today and my desk looks so much happier! No action shots because I can't find my camera cable, but faemystique was kind enough to lend me some of her photos of the rug.

And the back has a cute tag (drawn on canvas? printed on canvas? how did you make these?)

Ah, also the package came with nice extras like a bird's nest pendant, which I need to put on a chain soon.
Thank you so much for the mug rug, Carey! I have a really high standard to live up to now.
