I guess we are out of the super cute fun fairies, and princesses stage.  She wanted to be the corpse bride.  Money has been tight, so I made the costume from fabric in my stash, and only bought a bit of yarn to make the wig and bouquet and a skeleton shirt from Walmart.  I had planned on making a flesh tone body suit and painting on the bones, but ran out of money and time.  I had a lot of fun with the makeup and she was the hit of the neighborhood. 





On the dress form:

I made this costume for my 16 year old son.  He had a blast and was the hit of the party.  I used felt for the body and teeth and mesh for the mouth so he could see out of his Domo.  The framework is a pool noodle.  Under it he was wearing a Domo t-shirt so he could still look cool and be in "costume" while they were watching scary movies.  I wish I had more time to work on it before the big day, but between Homecoming projects, my daughter's costume and Football I ran out of time.  I am still very Happy with the outcome. 

I made this for a friend of mine that was going to a baby shower....its the second one she has had me make and is waiting for two more.  ( I guess its the Baby Boom) 


Embroidered Name tag


The Blanket is made from Patons Happy Daze Melody Yarn in a simple granny square stitch.

Created this little fella for my niece. Despereaux is one of her favorite books.




These pics were taken on our trip to meet Despereaux's new little lady.   He is a great guide, see him pointing the way?   He is a finger puppet, and was loads of fun to make!

My husband has been asking me to make him an tiny amigurumi to take to work with him.  I made him a few things, but they were too big, or inappropriate for work.  So I came up with the idea of a tiny space man!  I love how he turned out and I think my husband was pleased!

I was supposed to make this for my Daughter's Birthday a week ago, but with all the crafts and things I had to get done for the party I didn't get to her.  I am so thrilled with how she came out I can't wait to give her to my daughter.  I think she will love her!
She is 100% my own pattern, however, I did use the concept of making a wig cap for her hair from a tuturial I found here:

I did make changes to that as well though. 
Her body is very egg shaped and her head is round, I haven't decided if I am going to add a mouth or just leave her as is.  Her arms and legs are jointed, my first attempt at this.  I made her clothes removable, so I can make her other outfits later on.  Even her panties can be changed.   I intentionally left her top short, so her belly button could peek out. Because when my daughter was little, she was always running around with her belly poking out.  She reminds me of my little girl when she was a toddler and wore her dance costumes everyday! We couldn't leave the house without a tutu and ballet shoes or taps.  She made quite the ruckus in the stores dancing down the aisles. 
I wish the pictures were a bit more clear so you could see the details of her nose and belly button.  I did a french knot for her belly, and love how it turned out! 

My little brother is obsessed with reptiles, so when I was making different amigurumi, he says I want a lizard.   I had already picked out a dragon that I wanted to make for him.  So I figure its a mythological lizard right?  So here he is:

Nice Turkey Tail!

All from my own pattern! 
OK this is my first time trying to write down my own pattern for someone else so be patient with me:

For the turkey body I used Red Heart Super Saver, Color is Coffee  Fleck
Hook size 3.5mm (the first one I made, I think I used a different size, just keep your tension pretty tight, since you are using double crochet throughout, otherwise the holes will be to big)
I don't count the ch2 as a dc (probably should, but its not how I was counting)
Ch  4
6 sc in first ch
join to make cirlce
ch2 2 dc in each st around, join.  (12 dc)
ch 2 *2dc in first st, 1 dc in next.  Repeat from * around.  Join to top of ch2 (18 dc)
ch2 *2dc in first st, 1 dc in next 2 st. Repeat from * around. Join to top of ch2 (24 dc)
ch2 1 dc in each st around. Join to top of ch2. (24 dc)
ch2 *1 dctog, 1dc in next two st. Repeat from *around. Join.  (18 dc)
This is a good time to stuff the body of your turkey, I used standard fluff, but would like to find something to match the yarn, since it shows through the dc.  I liked the texture of the dc vs sc so I left it. 
ch2 *1dctog, 1dc in next st.  Repeat from * around.  Join.  (12 dc)
Repeat last round. (6 dc)
ch2 2dc in each st around. (12 dc)
ch2 *2dc in first st, 1dc in next three times.  1 dc in remaining st around.  Join. (14dc) (This makes his face bigger than the back of his head)
This is a good time to start stuffing, as it gets tight in the next rounds.
ch2 *dctog, 1dc in next st. *repeat around to last 2st, 1dc in each of these. Join.  Add more stuffing if needed. 
ch2 dctog in each st around.  Join. (4 dc)
close head with slip stitch. 
I leave a long tail, so i can hang him from stuff, but you can weave the long tail in if desired.

Tail:
I used a variegated autumn color yarn, I believe it is also red heart, it was on clearance with no label, but I really liked it.
Hook size 3.5mm
ch3 7 sc in 1st ch, turn.
ch2 sc in each across
ch3 turn sc in same as last sc.  *sc in next st, ch3 sc in same st. Repeat across. 
ch3 turn 2dc in ch3 sp, ch1 *1dc in sc ch1, 3dc in ch3 space, ch1 1dc in sc. Repeat across.
ch3 turn.  1dc in first st, skip 2 st, *1dc in ch1 spch3 dc in next ch1 sp.  1dc in next 2 st, dc in ch1 space, ch3. Repeat from * across. 
ch2 sc in each st, 3sc in each ch3 space.
finish off. 

Beak:
I used orange yarn left over from my pumpkin hat.
hook size 3.5
 5 sc in magic ring
without joining, sc in each st around. in last st 2sc. 
TO leaving long tail for sewing.

Waddle:
I used red yarn I had in my stash.
hook size 3.5
ch15
sc in last ch, 2sc in next ch
slip stitch in each ch to beginning.
TO leaving long tail to stitch to beak.

Feet
Make 2
Also Using orange yarn
hook 3.5 mm
ch 13
sl in 5th ch from hook. ch6 sl in same st, ch6 sl in same.
TO, weave long end into chain, it adds a bit of bulk to his leg.

Wings:
Make 2
ch15
Hdc in second ch from hook and in each across. (14hdc)
Do not turn, continue around end
ch1 2dc in same as last hdc, 1dc in each st across bottom of wing
sl in last st and TO leave long tail for sewing.
I attached wing in middle of the back, they curl around naturally to front.   
Then I stitch tail onto backside, adjusting the position to be able to see his pretty colors from the front.

I used small black safety eyes, however, for little ones, I would just embroider eyes, since its made from dc, I am afraid the safety eyes might not stay in as well as they should.  Stitch beak with waddle onto face,  Set onto your workspace, and find the best spot to place the feet, and sew onto front. 

I hope all this makes sense, since I typically jot notes just for me to see, I am not sure how much sense they make.  If you make a turkey from my pattern I would love to see how he turns out!  Post pics!
