11  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / I love you mini travel bag on: February 13, 2006 10:13:31 AM
Just a cute little idea that I was thinking of. The boy is already getting enough for V-day, so I probably wont use this until this Summer when he goes on vacation. But I wanted to post it in case anybody else needs a cute last minute gift. (also, so that I wont totally forget about it by the time summer rolls around)

A cute mini drawstring bag of love to keep with him on his travels. (An ex of mine actually had something like this from his previous ex and he hung it from his rearview mirror in his car)

Even better than a card,This bag is full of love. So Ill still be by your side when were far apart. Other poem suggestions would be appreciated. I suck at rhyming!

So anyway, I was thinking of making a little velvet bag and then filling it with song lyrics, I love you notes, those little good luch pocket charms, and a mini pic of us.

Also, a compass either decorated or with a tag that says "So that you will always find your way back to me"

And a heart with the poem by ee cummings:
i carry your heart with me(i carry it in
my heart)i am never without it(anywhere
i go you go,my dear;and whatever is done
by only me is your doing,my darling)

12  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Dinosaur Party (ideas?) on: February 09, 2006 05:43:22 AM
My office is having an important dinner in the dinosaur room at a museum. I'm trying to think of interesting (yet still classy) ways to tie in the dinosaur theme with the tables.

We're thinking of doing bright spring colors (The event is in April)

Does anybody have any ideas for place cards, flower arrangements, etc?

Thank you!
13  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / James Bond Theme... ideas? on: December 10, 2005 10:55:27 AM
So I finally figured out what to get the new nerd boy in my life. He loves James Bond, so I decided to make a whole theme of James Bond with a bunch of little gifts. We just started seeing eachother, so I don't want to get too mushy but I want to show some effort.

Anyway, now that I have the idea, I am pretty stuck on what to include.

Martini Shaker, check.
Martini glasses, perhaps.

But what else???

If all else fails maybe I'll do a sophisticated gentleman theme and include cigars or a pipe and a book on being a Gentleman and ettiquitte. Something cute like that.

Thanks in advance guys!
14  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / DARE halter top on: November 29, 2005 11:58:18 AM
After my friend wore an old DARE shirt to a party I decided I needed one of my own for the Big D show I was going to.

I found one at the local thrift store and turned it into a cute little halter.

I took in the sides, made it shorter and used Red thread to hem it on the top and sides just to make it stand out a little more. The halter part is pieces of the tshirt that I braided together. I think it came out pretty cool
15  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Mog- Moogle from Final Fantasy on: March 29, 2005 10:20:44 AM
This is Mog, a moogle from Final Fantasy. My second final fantasy stuffed animal and this was surprisingly harder than Ultros. My boyfriend and I made this for his ex-girlfriend over the weekend. It might've been easier doing it myself, but the boy wanted to learn to sew and that's just too cute to pass up! So here it is...

16  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Ultros the Octopus on: March 16, 2005 10:16:25 AM
My new boyfriend is a nerd so I decided to make him his favorite character from Final Fantasy. It's my first ever stuffed animal so it was kinda tricky.

The legs were really hard to turn rightside out and some of the seams ripped a little between that and stuffing it. Rather than turn him again I just used some fabric glue in those little places. I figure it's the thought that counts and he won't really know the difference anyway.

So here's the cartoon version of Ultros:

And here's mine. I think he looks kinda goofy, but I guess that's what a cartoon should look like. Oh, and you can't tell in the pic, but his teeth are actually yellow felt. (They look too white in the picture)

And the bottom:

So that's it! I'm giving it to him tonight at his show. (I was up till 2 am working on it so he better appreciate it!)
17  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / 80's Prom Party on: March 14, 2005 01:03:58 PM
So I'm throwing an 80's prom party in april and I already have a bunch of cool ideas, but since you guys have always been such a great help before I thought you could give me a hand yet again. I'm starting to make the invitations and I thought it would be cool to have a "theme" song like in real life to put on the front. Maybe "Everybody Wang Chung Tonight" or "Simply Irresistable" or something like that. Any ideas?

Also, for decorations I'm doing the whole teal, silver and pink thing with streamers and ballooons and a disco ball. (As tacky and horribly 80's as possible)

Any ideas yall have would be loved! Thanks!

19  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Sushi V-day Cards on: January 18, 2005 11:20:20 AM
All of my friends are really into Sushi and I'd love to make Valentines cards with a picture of sushi on the front. Just having trouble thinking of something witty to say on the inside. Any ideas?
