Today I received my swap package from astrangeone!



She made me a stamp of my farm's logo, a panda stamp, a tattoo flash music note, and a super cute sewing machine and little dude. She also sent along a wonderful dish scrubbie cloth, which I immediately put to good use!

Thanks so much astrangeone, everything is amazing and I look forward to stamping everything with my new farm logo stamp!

Oh, my mom did take a closeup where you can see some of the quilting. Here it is!

This is my second quilt, technically my first quilt top, but then I started and finished my first quilt which I've posted here.

This was a present for my father in law. He's an amateur astronomer, complete with a domed telescope in his backyard out in the country. I figured he would benefit from a nice lap quilt, and when I saw the blue gold-speckled fabric, it reminded me so much of space that I couldn't help but start making this quilt!

The brown fabrics include various circle motifs, and then the pattern itself is circular. Symbolic, but not obvious.



This was much easier to freemotion quilt, and I got fancy and used matching threads to really make it look snazzy.

Sorry the picture's not bigger, it was the one week my camera's battery was empty, so mom took this shot. I'll have to take nicer and close shots of it when I go to visit them next.

I recently completed my version of Oh Franson's Mod Sampler quilt-along. This was also my first quilt and first massive sewing project. My color strategy was to exclude green but I ended up adding it in via the sashing - at least it's not as prominent as the blocks, that's really what I was aiming for.



I modified the back due to fabric restrictions. I made the top half in coin quilt style. If I do say so myself, I kinda like the coin quilt back versus one solid back. Here's a picture of it without the binding.




And here's a final shot of it looking super inviting! (Note, the back is not as pure white as the pic below shows, the second pic is more accurate)




Freemotion quilting sure was fun and interesting, once my machine started behaving nicely.
I used some generic polyester batting. I am really happy with the results of not only the workmanship but also because it's really a nice warm blanket - it's keeping my feet warm now!

I'm already starting my next quilt, another Mod Sampler, but this time for my mother. It'll be a green/purple themed one. I bought more fabric so as to make a nicer coin quilt backing.

Here are two stamps that I created recently.

First off is The Prince from the awesome video game Katamari Damacy.
I left the katamari with no design so that I can either stamp or draw one in!

Second is an upset looking rhino. I found the artwork on a card I received when I left a previous job. He's so upset yet cute at the same time! I need to carve out some accompanying word to go with the stamp, any suggestions?

Hello fellow stampers and stamp makers! I thought it was about time to start posting some of my stamping adventures.

Here's a stamp I carved about a month ago. It's the Little Prince from the book by Antoine De Saint Exupery.

I traced the Prince from a large illustration onto tracing paper with pencil, then rubbed it onto the pink stamp carving rubber and went at it! It took awhile and a lot of breath holding to do the finer details such as his eyes, but I managed to get a very accurate stamp as a result.
I let my mum use it and she was so happy, as she loves le petit prince more than I do if that's possible!

Here's the stamp in action. I colored it using my trusty pencil crayons, trying to emulate the book illustration colors as best as possible. Although since it's just the outlines I can make the prince wear anything I can think of!

I'll be posting some more of my stamps later on, but for now this is the best and most detailed one I've made. I have plans to carve up other stamps from le petit prince and make a set!
