9  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: MY first soap sucks! :( on: October 04, 2008 12:50:42 AM
so when i was making the soap i also made a fantastic mess! it was amazing. but in the mess i dropped about half a jar of oil and glass and fat went all over the magazine i got it from so i threw it away. it was from bust magazine. I'm pretty sure the lye is a little heavy. can i add more oil? just remembering.... it was about 2.5 parts oil to one part lye/water mixture. i dont know alot about soap but I'm guessing the information isn't as helpfull as ide like Wink. my friend who's a soapstress said something about "french milled"? but after googling it I'm not sure i can do that. thank you so much for your replies!
10  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / MY first soap sucks! :( on: September 28, 2008 03:10:29 PM
I made some soap from scratch about a 5 weeks ago, thats how long the recipe said to let it set up for. ive been useing it for  a few days and ive decided its not so great. its kinda harsh. its olive oil, palm oil, and olive oil. also lye and water. can i melt them back down and add somthing fancy to it? if i do do i have to let it sit for another month?
