You know, I use this same format to make little knitting patterns to carry for portable projects. I had a heck of a time making a template for it, but I do have one. It's in Microsoft Word, and all you have to do is cut and paste  text over the marked areas. I could email it to you if you would like.

Well darn. I had never heard of crocheting / knitting with clay before. Just goes to show you that the good ideas have already been thought!  Wink

what kind of hook did you use?
I used the biggest hook I had, a really long I. It would very easily work on a bigger needle, and probably the bigger the better. The clay would snag and stretch out if it fell too far into the little dip of the crochet hook. I mainly knit, so I'm very much a novice at all the names and techniques of crochet.
