Why are there always so many cool socks around when you're not looking for them but when you are, they're all stupid looking  Wink  I found some pretty socks today and will put the little guy together this weekend.  I had another pair I tried to use but it turned out looking more like a voodoo doll than a sock monkey....the socks were too tightly knit.  I know I could use the Rockford Red Heel socks but I want this monkey to be made just for my partner who likes funky colors like I do Smiley

Oooooarghghhah!  I had completely finished my package for my partner and was ready to send it out when someone knocked over the bleach cleaner which was inexplicably sitting in my craft room and RUINED it!  I'll still send by the end of the week, but it's not going to be the same as I can't re-create what I made that quickly Sad  I'm so  Cry and  Angry.  It was either a kid or a cat but they are both in the dog house!

I'm crafting away!

Day 1 is 3/4 done
Day 12 is completed
Day 8 is completed

Everything else is well on the way to completion, those just stuck out more in my mind because they were the most time consuming-lol!

I received an amazing package from InShambles and it came right on my birthday!  I absolutely love everything!

She figured out that I love birds and read that I wanted a Domokun cell phone holder so she made me this awesome bag of super soft corduroy with a painted bird on front and the CUTEST little Domokun cellphone cozy lined in fleece with a carabiner to keep it safely in my purse!

And she made me a cowl and mittens from a recycled cashmere sweater that are just BEAUTIFUL!  The color is much prettier in real life, my camera is new and confusing to me.  They are so soft and fit perfectly.

Thank you so much InShambles, you did an amazing job in what you made and making things for me that were perfect for me!!!!
27  COOKING / Dessert / Zombie Brains Cupcake on: October 14, 2009 12:45:46 PM
This is the cupcake I made for my 12 year old to pass to his friends on his birthday on October 13th.  It was a HUGE hit, even to the point that his art teacher took photos of it and 2 girls in his class refused to touch the brain.

They taste really good, despite the way they look.  They are made of red velvet cake mix, cream cheese frosting and the brains are made of chocolate using a miniature brain candy mold.  Super simple to make if you can find the mold.  I found mine on eBay but I know they're sold elsewhere online (with outrageous shipping prices, IMO).  The chocolates can be found in any cake decorating section of craft stores (Michael's, JoAnn, etc.), the cake mix and frosting can be made from scratch or purchased at any grocery store.

Aren't they awesome?Huh

**note:  the photos I took of my creation were deleted from my camera when my husband tried to download them, so the photos shown here belong to Flickr user xsomnis.  She has given permission to use them as long as I gave her credit for them.  Check out her Flickr photo stream, she does amazing art!

Uh oh, I realized I haven't checked in her in awhile so I thought I'd better.  I was in the hospital all last week and this week I've been recuperating so my online time has been spent on Facebook keeping my family updated (easier and cheaper than calling Wink  Plus two of my children have had birthday's this week, my oldest turned 21 on the 12th and my other turned 12 on the 13th.  I have been in contact with my partner though and have been able to get lots of crafting done.

That's the thing about having a chronic disease (I have polycystic kidney disease) and getting sick, even though you're sick enough to be in the hospital, it's mostly so they can manage your electrolytes via IV and pain meds via IV, so I still felt well enough to craft.  So I've been working really hard on my 11th and 12th day stuff.  I'm going to need some help with my Day One stuff, mostly in the idea part of it.  Of course, I can't say what it is that I need on here because my partner will read it and know my super secret surprise Cheesy

Better get back to work....the glue gun is calling....

I just claimed sammysam but now I'm worried I'm not doing it right!!!  Embarrassed

I'm an October birthday and signed up for the swap.  When I claim someone am I just supposed to pick one thing from their list?  I did pick just one thing and sent a PM to both sammysam and sin esparanza (if I spelled that wrong, I apologize but don't worry, I spelled it correctly when I sent the PM)

I'm a dork, can someone explain this to me pretending that I'm a easily distracted 4 year old Wink ?
