11  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Sock &/or Glove Doll Swap - Send outs Monday 11/09/09 on: November 27, 2009 06:39:24 AM
I love it! Piggies are so cute"^.^"

Awww, thanks!  Mine didn't turn out as cute as everyone else's, but it was not due to lack of effort!  Autumn isn't a good time to search for cool socks, everything is Halloween themed or brown.  I'm going to stock up on cooler socks for the next time and practice some more so mine turn out even better.  Both of my girls want sock dolls for Christmas Smiley

I finally rec'd from titaniumhip today - though the delay was not her fault, it was a lazy USPS fill-in carrier who decided that she only wanted to deliver mail and save packages for the regular carrier to deliver when he came back from being sick  Angry

Anyway, it was worth the wait because look who arrived!!!

ADORABLE, right?!?  She did a great job, she's good a sock dolls!  I've named him Nigel and the little guy is Seth Smiley

And she sent extra goodies that are SO cute and match perfectly with the entire package:

I am a lucky girl today and titaniumhip is a great and patient swap partner (sort of like the Great and Powerful Oz-lol)

Thank you SO much, both for your wonderful package and your patience, you deserve an extra gold star!!!!

(and don't worry, I complained bitterly to the postmaster and they assured me that no, they don't want me to post anything about this experience on my blog for everyone to hear about and yes, the non-deliverer will not be called back to help them)  Grin

I have just one last project to complete and it's giving me problems!  I thought it would be simple but it's proving to be a headache!!!

Ok, so the problem is, I'm making a charm bracelet.  Simple, right?  Well, my partners wrist is only 4 inches.  I've looked EVERYWHERE for a bracelet that small, even on jewelry websites for infants and preemies.  I thought I had really small wrists but hers are smaller than the baby bracelets my children wore in the hospital when they were born.  I'm not a jewelry maker, so making the actual links or taking one apart and putting back together in the small size is out of the question.  Any suggestions?  I have the charms, I just don't know what to put them on, 4 inches is the same size as my husband's thumb.  It might have to turn into a charm necklace Smiley

Amazing dolls!  Mine never turn out as well for some reason, I can't figure it out Sad
15  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / This sweater needs to be a pillow on: November 17, 2009 09:55:20 AM
This is a favorite sweater sent to me by a friend.  She LOVES it, but her snooty friends make fun of her for wearing it (it's just for Christmas, no other time).  I offered to make it into a pillow for her and it just arrived today.  However, the cat is not centered, it's close to the top and I want to make a really cool pillow for her.  I can't knit, only sew.  The cat must be included.  Any suggestions??? Thanks!!!

16  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / Talk About The Swap Process / I sent, she rec'd but now silence from gifted and organizer - what to do? on: November 16, 2009 11:14:10 AM
I signed up for a birthday swap.  I was chosen and rec'd my gifts on my birthday (yay!).  I let the sender know, I let the organizer know, I posted pictures in the forum and sent a snail mail card as I was supposed to.

I also chose a birthday girl.  I sent her item and the DC# says she's rec'd it but she's never let me know what she thought, never posted photos, never sent me a PM saying it got there.  I see that she's online nearly every day, so I'm not sure what happened.  I haven't checked the forum today to see if she's posted anything, but usually I get an email when someone posts - so it's possible I didn't get that email......

I let the organizer know that I've done my part and wondering if I could have feedback for the swap since but I have heard anything from her either.

Now I don't know what to do.  Of course, your feelings get a little hurt when someone doesn't acknowledge a gift (esp. since what I sent her wasn't cheap and I put a lot of effort into it - twice since the first item was ruined by someone spilling bleach on it!) but now I just want my feedback so I can be done with it all.  Any suggestions?

All done, boxed and wrapped up are days:

So that leaves 12, 8 and 5 to finish then I'll be ready to ship!  I'm almost done with 12 today.  I think I put things in the wrong order in some of the boxes or maybe an unexpected order but it'll all work out in the end Smiley

Mailed my package out today - but it's going to Canada so it may be a week or two before it arrives.
