11  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Zombie head candy dish on: May 12, 2010 09:26:07 AM
My newest work is a Zombie head candy dish. I had been wanting to try sculpting lidded candy bowls but didn't have a clue as to how so I just starting playing around till I figured it out. This one turned out so gruesome and icky and I think it needs to have gummy worms in it. lol

Size is approx 5 1/2" tall x 5 1/4 wide. Sculpted in paperclay.

12  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Discussion and Questions / Re: Making mold for clay mosaic base on: May 07, 2010 06:59:09 AM
Here's a link to my tutorial on making a latex mold. I cast in hydrostone whish is a gypsum cement so you should be able to adapt this method to casting cement.

13  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Discussion and Questions / Food safe finish for paperclay? on: May 07, 2010 06:51:50 AM
I'm making some candy bowls from my paperclay and I'd like to make sure the final finish on the bowls interior is food safe. I'm painting the bowls with acrylic paints and normaly would use a polycrylic varnish for a protective finish but that's not food safe. I've been looking all over the internet for days and am not finding a food safe product that would work on paperclay.  Anyone know of a product that is food safe?

For the Horde!  mmmm sorry, I couldn't resist. I play mainly Horde toons but I do have a NE Hunter. Love your cat form and your BF is right, you should challenge yourself to try creating the others.

I do and I just caught one! I was doing my weekly cleaning, trying to vacuum under my bed when all of a sudden my vacuum got plugged with something. Great, I just vacuumed up another one of my hubbahubby's socks! Was I surprised to see what the vacuum really got plugged with! Yes, I had caught a sock alright but it was in the mouth of the biggest dust bunny I've ever seen! After I pulled him out of the hose all he said to me was, "What sock?"
