Done!: 22

1. Cooking:  Fresh pasta from scratch
It was fun and quite easy rolling the dough.
The dough was OK but the fettucine stuck together.

2. Cooking: mango/pineapple/passion fruit puree
A new way to use lilikoi

3. Art: new pencils that have three colors: tri-tone pencils drawing

4. Garden: getting the garden ready for new plants-terraces

5. Backyard: create a flat patio-like area for inflatable hot tub- added bamboo fence

6. Art: first oil pastel
I think I should apply more pastels to get it thicker-not sure though.
at the beach

7. Art: explorations
I have tried melting the pastels. So, I used a heat gun, the heated pastel leaves a thick trace but it cools down very fast.
Then, I tried drawing on an electric grill plate. This works fine. The heat has to be high enough. It leaves a thick layer. It reminds me of Impressionism but it uses pastels like crazy.

8. Cooking:I created this recipe: egg-spinach-mushrooms and bacon

9. Cooking:I created this recipe: egg-zucchini-carrots and more

10. Cooking: Since the terrible burn accident last year with falafels, I had not made any from scratch. I tried again but cooked them in the oven. No oil burns and less fat! It's not as good though but we liked it and ate it all before taking a picture. So, here is why you should not fry falafels made from canned chickpeas as they are too wet.

11.Art: new medium; pastel- second try
Hawaiian monk seal on the beach

12. Garden: starting herbs and vegetables from seeds. It seems that some were too old and not all are sprouting.

13. Cooking: breads, breads, more breads
My favorite so far: Parker House rolls. Here, a white roll.

14: Art: art notebook
You can see the pages on the art journal craftalong

15: Cooking: Pasta second try; Success, beautiful separated spaghetti and delicious meat raviolis
16: Just for fun: Cat Whack a Mice

Lots of great Christmas crafting from all. Too many to comment on each.

All the food looks very yummy. You baked and cooked a lot more than I did. I just made a roast with vegetables and a Christmas log.

That was already too much as the scale told me this morning.  Is it why we take resolutions on the first day of the year?
