1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / My First Ever Copic Bound Journal on: December 05, 2011 11:35:39 AM
I've been art journaling for a number of years now but it's always been in premade or bought journals. I've wanted to learn how to bind my own but didn't even try until now. This is my first attempt and I'm pretty proud of it, too.
Here is the front with a journal page from Teesha Moore, adhered decoupage style:

And here is the binding:

The signatures, there are five, are #140 Fabriano hot press watercolor paper, my favorite to art journal on. It's silky smooth, holds up to a tremendous amount of water, paint, glue and anything else I dice to throw at it, and thick enough to be sturdy without being bulky.

I had a great time making this and am planning to make lots more.

Peace & Love,
Barb

5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Re: Freezer paper for fabric printing - Plastic vs Wax on: June 30, 2010 07:57:59 AM
Reynolds Freezer Paper is really what you're looking for because it is paper on one
side (which can easily be drawn on or printed on with your average injet printer)
and it has the waxy (actually a plastic type material that will bond to your fabric
but only temporarily and not permanent) film on the other side.

I'm sure you can find it on mail order online...check Amazon.com, they seem to
have everything these days.

Good luck!

6  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / My First Quilted Fabric Art Journal - IMG OBESE on: June 30, 2010 07:30:00 AM
Because this is a journal, I'm posting it here even though the cover is made of fabric and is quilted...it's still a journal. I do hope I've picked the right spot. *shrug*

I've seen so many great fabric covered journals and I couldn't resist trying my hand at it. It measures 9 1/2" x 12" when closed and has three signatures inside, containing a total of 20 sheets (40 if counting front and back) of Fabriano Artistico 140# Hot Press Watercolor paper. Doing something different, I folded the sheets into odd sizes and some have 2" or 3" fold overs just to add interest.

Let me know what you think...

The front

And who doesn't love a pink heart? LOL

The back

With the fold-over closure opened up

Opened completely, showing the awesome Fabriano Artistico 140# hot press watercolor paper inside, just ready for some great art journaling to begin! WOOT!
Thanks so much for looking.
C&C greatly appreciated!

Peace & Love,
~Barb~

It is so not fair to taunt a diabetic with a serious caramel
addiction with a yummy recipe like this! OMG! I am so going
to have to make some of these today (and eat some before
anyone gets home! LOL)
Thanks for sharing!

Way to go. You definitely should be listing these on Etsy; I just know they

so fabulous!
