Details of swap:

Welcome to the Givers and Needers swap!

Givers will send a box of craft supplies to a very grateful needer.  In return, you get the satisfaction of knowing that you helped someone continue their love of crafting, plus a small thank you gift.  Although there is no size specification, please ensure that you are sending a box that you would be happy to receive.

Needers will receive a box of supplies from a very generous giver.  In return, they will send a thank you gift that is the equivalent of a small.

This is a great way to de-stash and help a fellow crafter out who may for various reasons need some supply help.

This swap is limited to 24 participants.

If you would like to be both a Giver and a Needer (say you have an excess of fabric to help a beginning sewer, but just started knitting and need yarn), that is allowed.

Please put Givers and Needers in all PM subjects.  I reserve the right to refuse ANYONE based on late sending, history of incomplete packages, etc, etc.

If you want to participate, information to send to organizer:

The last swap like this ended a while ago now, and I was wondering if there was any interest in another round?

This was the last one:

I'd be willing to organize if enough people are interested.

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Baby blanket! on: December 10, 2008 06:37:37 AM
This is definitely my first project that isn't a hat.  I learned to knit in the round because the only reason that I wanted to learn how to knit was to make hats.  However, my mother found out that I can knit, and my brother had a baby recently, and even though I'm clear on the other side of the country, I was enlisted to knit the baby blanket.  It's still sitting here waiting to be sent because one of my housemates stole it and was sleeping with it.

yes, those are tennis balls at the bottom.
yes, i am standing on a chair because i am v. v. short.

to give you some idea of size, this is boyfriend and he's 6'2" and really goofy looking.

i'm really really really proud of this andd it's also my first project posted on craftster!
7  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Cooking for a group on a budget -- HELP! on: September 14, 2008 03:43:42 AM
okay, so i'm about to start a program called Katimavik and basically, i move into a house with 12 other people around the same age as me (which means we all have like, zero cooking experience).  we all take turns making meals, and i was wondering what some good ideas for meals for a group are?

i mean, obviously things like pasta, chili, stirfry, etc, can be made in massive amounts, but we have to spend nine months together, and nine months eating just that would probably kill me.

i can follow a recipe, and i know how to cook well enough that i don't burn things and such.

also, we have a veeeeery limited budget, so cheap would be nice!
