1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Motley Crue cross-stitch on: March 03, 2011 08:57:34 AM

This took me well over 2 years in small bursts.  It has 13,776 x's.  It is the size of the album cover and I just used clear grid sheet over the album to keep it to scale.

2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Sock Monkey Centipede- i made it to boing boing! on: August 12, 2010 07:03:21 AM
i had no idea where to squeeze this monster in.  Usually i make quilts so I guess miscellaneous is better than toys...its not really for the kids.  Anyway, by now you must have seen the movie. The Human Centipede. Yes? No?!!!! Well go watch it immediately! No, don't. Well, yes, you should but only after reading the wikipedia review perhaps. Consider yourself warned. BEHOLD! The sock monkey centipede!!!!!

These monkey babies were fun to make! Each segment was filled with love, terror, horror, and a little regret. I love them so much. They are freshly surgically connected so they are still a little weak in the knees. Because of this i have created a stand with coat hangers soldered together and sprayed gold. But as you see, I am a genius, but not a metalsmith.

So, I made this gem and put it on facebook and then it got forwarded around and then it was on boingboing.net!  I could die!  I wish it was on regretsy but we can't have everything.

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Fishy quilt on: October 09, 2008 07:21:46 AM

I just finished this fishy quilt for a friend.  I got to go crazy with the quilting and just did whatever.  I ended up quilting in bubbles and scales and swirlies for water.  Its hard to capture with the camera but I tried!

Oh, and the fins are 3-d.  They were sewn on after everything was quilted.
4  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Help me choose my block layout on: March 05, 2008 06:44:03 PM
I'm having a hard time deciding if I should go zig zaggy

or just stripey
   ???Comments?

I'm leaning toward stripey.
5  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Things that annoy me on: January 29, 2008 12:32:35 PM
I'm grouchy.  I'm not trying to be an ass but here goes:

1.  I hate that on the finished board everyone calls their first quilt "First Quilt" or "Baby quilt".  I want more detail in the title so I can go back to it.  "First quilt:  rail fence with dinosaurs" or "First quilt for my dad- woodgrain fabrics".  I wish this would happen so I can keep checking on the quilts I admire and want to see all of the other comments and to make sure I am reading a different post than the other "first quilt"
2.  Pictures:  I like it when the pic pops up and I don;t have to click a link.  This also benefits the quilt makes because it puts the little picture at the quilting home page.

I don't think those are too bad to gripe about.  And you can all ignore me if you want.
6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Blocky quilt for ME! on: January 15, 2008 06:36:11 AM

This is all quilted and ready for binding!

This is 1/4 of the completed top.  I'm still working on the rest.  I actually copied someone's pattern from on here.  It was way more beautiful but I switched mine up to make my blocks less uniform and slightly chaotic.  I really thinned my fabric pile and scrap bin so that was cool.  I'll post more pics after I finish the top and quilt it this weekend.

Oh and the best part is that this one is for me!  I haven't made myself one yet, until now!
7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / The 5 quilts of Christmas on: January 02, 2008 09:26:44 AM

and the last one is double sided

I started in June and made all of these for my family for Christmas.  I finished by the end of Novemebr and they were all so pretty it was hard to give them away!  The top one is queen size and all of the rest are couch blankets.  Yay!  I win for awesome presents this year!
8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Pet Portrait tiny quilt on: December 19, 2007 01:31:46 PM

This is a little 10 x 13 wall hanging quilt for a friend.  Isnt it adorable?  It took me two evenings after work.
9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Asian Print Quilt on: October 17, 2007 09:33:22 AM
I decided to make 6 quilts for Christmas presents and I have 3 done.  This is my Asian print one that i made for my BFF who is 1/4 Chinese.  Its machine appliqued circles of tons of different asian print fabrics.  My favorite one yet!

10  Georgia / Georgia: Central / Craft fairs in Atl and anywhere in GA on: October 08, 2007 10:38:00 AM
Hi all,

I'm new to the craft fair circuit and wanted to hear about any that you all have done and the turnout etc.  I've done the Atlanta ICE and the EAV Strut and both were great fun.  But next year I would like to do a few more.  I'm also compiling a list of these fairs and a spreadsheet with dates, websites, costs, etc that I will share once I get some extra info.

So tell me about your craft fairs!
