1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / The Ugly Blanket - stash bustin' jamboree on: January 13, 2012 08:38:05 AM
Hey friends!

I had a huge stash of mismatched variegated yarn piled up in my craft closet so I decided - hey! lets make the world's ugliest blanket!

After a few months off and on, it is finally complete Smiley please excuse the unmade bed and iPhone photos (couldn't resist instagramming...)

It's just about Queen-sized - Double Crochet - worsted weight yarn for the most part Smiley

and a close up of some stitches:

Such a simple, mindless project - very relaxing! My sister has already placed an "order" for a "wedding version" for her and her soon-to-be hubby Wink

I might also do some calculations to find out exactly how many stitches there are in this blanket Cheesy

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Lara CRAFT on: November 02, 2010 05:58:46 AM
Hey friends! This year, my friends and I decided to go as Heroes and Villians for the annual halloween party. I chose Lara Croft, Tomb Raider initially but then added my own crafty spin on it...

presenting.. LARA CRAFT!

Shown here with my sister, Poison Ivy - I made my Spool of Thread Bandolier, a belt with space for a glue gun, crocheted whip, fabric scissors and measuring tape. My tattoo reads "Craft or DIE" (which, incidentally, is still on my arm - apparently my sis used permanent marker to draw it on) and I have thimble earrings

With Scorpion (another handmade costume, by my talented friend, Yolanda), battling to the death.

And one more detail shot...

Thanks for looking!
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Olde Timey! A few necklaces :D on: July 11, 2010 08:06:51 AM
hey friends! it has been QUITE a while since I've actually posted any of my projects - I'm all about the swaps, so others have put my stuff up for me haha

i made these necklaces for a friend in the Ongoing Wish Swap a few weeks ago and wanted to share them here because I'm kind of in love with them. Cheesy

enough chatter, onto pictures!

thrift store brooch (leaf shaped with rhinestones) with other sparkly parts wired on, cream ribbon that clasps in the back

vintage gold-colored locket with steampunk watch parts attached

old watch base (weird fact - i pulled off the first face which was faux-leather to reveal an odd looking israeli mickey mouse underneath - hebrew lettering and 'made in israel' stamped on the bottom!)

Thanks for looking!!!

metal swirls made by my sister during a sculpture class in high school
a tiny pendant that says "imagine"
a big wooden bead that i received in a swap (wood burned design) that i knew was destined for greatness
a hamesh (or hamsa) hand to ward off the evil eye Wink
various other beads that i have collected over the years

Thank you for looking Smiley
6  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / thanks nana! reconned jordache flats :D on: November 29, 2009 07:30:27 AM
My mom has just started cleaning out my grandmother's closet and bringing home bags and bags of fabulous 80s wear. These babies caught my eye and I thought, oooo i could totally do something with this...

I used less than one sheet of scrapbook paper and eleventy billion coats of mod podge (still applying coats to be sure!)

On to the pictures!

And, of course, the BEFORE:

I really like how they came out! Although, I might have to wait for the spring to wear them hehe not quite snow-appropriate...

9  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / because my office keeps the air conditioning on through October... on: September 28, 2009 05:53:47 PM
Hello! I think this MAY be my first crocheting post of all times Cheesy I learned about a year ago but just started branching out from traditional rectangles and squares haha

I made this frilly little cowl for my coworker who nearly freezes to death bc our office is kept at polar temperatures Smiley no pattern was used, just made the ends a little frilly and added some much-needed buttons. it wraps around the neck (duh)

This took me about an hour so I WILL be making more (maybe one for myself... ) Wink

Thanks for looking! C+C always welcome
10  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Texture Time! obnoxious orange wristlet-o-fun on: August 04, 2009 03:14:31 PM
Hello all!

Well a few months ago, I got this awesome fabric at walmart and made this bag:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=311439.msg3577935#msg3577935

I had some scrappies left over and decided that I needed a wristlet to carry the essentials (burt's bees, gum, cell phone) to meetings with me. (I started a new position within the company which involves going to like 4 billion meetings a week...)

so last night I whipped this baby up... and decided it was too dull and needed some fiber-iffic texture!

alright enough chatter - on to the pictures!
(yes, my stitches are obnoxious and uneven but i think it adds charm!)

So this was my first time adding fibers to anything as embellishment but i think i will try it again!

C+C always welcome Cheesy Thanks for looking!
