231  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: How to get a 4 day workout using a folding chair, a level, & 6 rolls of tape on: August 27, 2008 06:15:04 PM
wow, that is So Freaking Awesome. I may steal the idea for my own bedroom. So sophisticated, and it's not just boring one colour, but it's not zany or crazy either, it's so perfect for a bedroom. I love it soooo much.
232  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: My First House on: August 27, 2008 06:02:10 PM
amazing job. i love it when people take a house that other people would pass over and turn it into a house that other people would kill over.

we got ours for a steal (considering the neighbourhood) and then upped the value by more than 20,000 just by pulling the ugly wood panelling out of the livingroom and replacing it with drywall. I can't wait to keep going like you guys have though! I would kill to be able to make my bathroom that fab. My bathroom doesn't even have a window. Yet you can hear people talking outside through the vent in there. It's pretty amazing.
233  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: button shirt to toddler dress recon *NEW MINTY FRESH TUTORIAL* on: August 27, 2008 06:42:37 AM
I have been undressing all the men at church with my eyes ever since seeing this tutorial. And then mentally running away with whatever shirt is suitable.
This dress is so cute and so simple to make! I really need to go raid my brothers' closets (my DH has only a few suitable shirts and has threatened me in no uncertain terms if I alter them in any way other than to fit him better) and make a thriftstore run to find some shirts to do this with...
234  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / first sewing project - simplicity ruffly skirt on: August 27, 2008 06:39:28 AM
this was my first sewing project, or at least my first one since IA in jr high. lol. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. It looks better in person... I didn't do it perfectly, but i still did it better than I thought it would and it got me warmed up on the idea of sewing again. <3

modelled by DD of course. lol. (this pattern turned out huge, this skirt is supposed to be like, knee length. It will fit her for about two years, I'm thinking! haha)

She's one year old and fancies herself quite the model.
the fabric is white with rainbow stripes and a bit of glitter. Perfect for a quirky little princess.

Just linked for the moment but I will fix them when I have more than ten posts...
235  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / my feet on: August 26, 2008 06:32:01 AM
my sewing machine was a hand me down, my mother barely ever used it but wanted a new one so she gave it to me, so it's goodness knows how old but totally mint condition shiny new, bahahahaha.

Anyways. So I have in front of me all these little accessories, mostly feet. I was going to post a picture and you were all going to come to my rescue, but my *insert descriptive expletive* BIL borrowed my camera cable, and my memory card is on the fritz, so I have no way of transferring said photo to my computer.

So instead I have to ask if somebody has a link to a website or something with pictures of feet and what they do? I know one of them is an adjustable rolled hem foot, because craftstylish has a blog post about rolled hem feet up today by coinsidence so I recognized it.

there are a few other mysterious thingies in here. A wierd metal thingie that's tringularish and i think has finger grippies on one side, and a white thing that I am guessing has to do with hems somehow but I'm not sure how it'd wielded.

I'm sure I sound like a complete moron right now, but I do know all the sewing basics and stuff, I took a class in highschool, however, said class never went into feet at all.
236  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: wee dotty jacket on: August 26, 2008 06:24:09 AM
i love it so bad. My DD has a jacket that's a lot like it but without a hood, from Old Navy. I paid like $20 for it on a huge boxing day sale. I, too, lust for this pattern! I want it in her size and my size and we can have different outside fabric and the same liner and be matchy but not matchymatchy. <3 *swoon*
237  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: first time sewing jeans! also, a cape?? on: August 26, 2008 06:21:29 AM
great job, the jeans look comfy... I'm phobic of trying to make my own pants, I completely disregard the pants section of the patterns, which is totally stupid because I'm nervous about it b/c pants have to fit just right, which is EXACTLY why I should sew them myself.

your underpants remind me of when I ran around my apartment in Oscar the Grouch mensbrief-style panties shrieking, "We're going streaking! We're going streaking!" (as per Will Farrel : Oldschool)... just because I liked the underwear.  Ahhh, the good old days. My roomies, sadly, did not join me, but rather just laughed. And the other tried to hide in her room b/c she was prudie but me and her sister broke in and i ran around a few times for good measure. It was good for her.
