1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / My First Quilt!!! on: June 26, 2009 07:01:56 AM
i've been wanting to make a quilt for the longest time...finally it happened. it's just a small one for my son. (34x45) ended up spending about $10 for the whole thing. green and yellow fabric were remnants. white and plaid were sheets from the thrift store. batting was 1/2 off at joann's! so here it is! what do you think?

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / t-shirt to yoga pants copy on: September 05, 2008 08:33:33 PM
i've used this tutorial a few times before...
http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/oversized_t_shirt_to_comfy_yoga_pants

my niece thinks its pretty cool so i made her a pair for her b-day (on this pair i cut up the side of the shirt instead of the middle like the tutorial). i got the shirt at the thrift store for 50 cents. she loves pink and volleyball so i thought it was perfect. i just hope they're not too low rise for her (she's going to be 12). the pairs that i've made for myself have been too low in the back. eh, she can just wear them for pj's. i also sewed in my "handmade by trevin's momma" label. well, here they are...not anything too special but super comfortable.

showing off my label (i can never tie a straight bow, lol)
5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / tootsie pop tote bag on: September 05, 2008 08:15:40 PM
i made this simple tote bag for my niece's 12th b-day present. its made from a t-shirt and fabric i bought at the thrift store. i think i spent less than 2 bucks on both which is awesome b/c there is about 5 yards of the fabric! the outside ended up a tad bit wider than the lining (obviously the interfacing i used didn't help the stretching of the t-shirt very much) so i just tucked and sewed at the sides. very high tech way of fixing it. lol. oh well. here it is...

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Trick or Treat Tote Bag on: September 01, 2008 06:38:56 AM
I made a Trick or Treat bag for my son's first Halloween. I know I started a lil early but I couldn't wait! I'm pretty new to sewing so any CC would be great. This is my second bag and first time with interfacing which worked out better than I thought. So, here it is... What do you think?

Hi! I've been lurking craftster for a lil while and am new to sewing. Just wanted to show you all my latest project. i got the tutorial for the infant sleepsack here http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/sleepsack.html . I went to joann's today and got a fleece remnant for $2.37 and a zipper for $1.99. (this was my first experience with a zipper. i'm quite happy with how it turned out.) i also used thread and velcro that i already had but i'm not counting that. Smiley my grand total was $4.32!!! i think that beats 19.99 at babies r us! so, here it is... what do ya think?
