2  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / My First Quilt!!! on: June 26, 2009 07:01:56 AM
i've been wanting to make a quilt for the longest time...finally it happened. it's just a small one for my son. (34x45) ended up spending about $10 for the whole thing. green and yellow fabric were remnants. white and plaid were sheets from the thrift store. batting was 1/2 off at joann's! so here it is! what do you think?

5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Working with Crayons- another melted crayon project on: January 23, 2009 09:51:48 AM
i saw a candle tutorial on martha one time that used a plastic container filled with sand. they used different shaped bottles and pressed them into the sand to make the molds. there was something about the temperature and the amount of sand that ends up stuck to the candle. i can't remember what it was. anyway, maybe you could try that and use different sized tubes for the molds.

i love the messenger! what kind of interfacing do you use? the last bag i made didn't stand up on its own, so i'm looking for an interfacing that's pretty stiff.

These are wonderful. What a great gift that will be very welcome. I just came back from taking care of my tiny granddaughter for 3 months. She went through 10 bibs a day and any number of burp cloths. She was like a little puke machine. You are giving them a great gift!

lol! my lil man was a puke machine too. i do not miss those days!
