I recently moved out of home, and no longer have my over bearing mother learing over me while I'm cooking. I've discovered the joys of baking again!
Here's some sucesses, and one spectacular failure. Enjoy! (sorry, the pictures aren't the best)
Hand made muffins:
Poison: dark chocolate, sultanas (raisins to you Americans) & pecan nuts
Not Poison: Just dark chocolate
(one of my house mates is allergic to nuts)
I made the marshmellows from scratch, and it was my first time ever. It turned out really well, except that I ran out of chocolate to cover it more fully. Lesson learned.
And next.... Devil's Food Cake:
Believe it or not they were both made from the same recipe 1 day apart. The top picture was the first try, and the second one was 1 day later.
My housemates and I dubbed the second one "fail cake" and we piled on all of the cream that we had left, and random fudge icing and anything else I could find. It actually tasted awesome, despite the fact it tried to commit suicide off the bench.
Thanks for looking!
