1  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 26 ENTRIES / chandelier and windchimes on: April 01, 2008 08:03:13 AM
i was super excited and wanted to make this my first challenge so i went to the dollar store with absolutely no plan and just wandered for a good hour and a half thinking of many different projects before i decided on this one.

i've been completely inspired by this post and wanting to do something like it and never thought the dollar store challenge would be the way
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=161211.0

so i bought five packages of spoons, a collander, a package of paper clips, and a package of tea lights, $8 total.

i drilled a few extra holes in the collander and linked the paperclips and bent some of the spoons and voila!

i think it's fun.  i'm trying to figure out how to hang it from my roofless patio so the windchimes will work.

2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / bag sprucing (img HEAVY) on: April 01, 2008 05:46:31 AM
so i didn't actually make any of these, but i did paint and draw on them to make them more fun, so i hope this is the right place for them.  my gf and i exchange easter baskets with rules that the "basket" has to be something useful and the things inside have to be useful.  so i made these up for her. let me know what you think

this first one was the "basket" and is one of my ways to get her away from plastic bags galore.  we loves us some mike and sulley

the rest are pouches so she can keep little things organized and not flying around everywhere driving me crazy.

and my first stencil ever, a camera because she's a photographer

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / coat rack and mail holder on: March 31, 2008 08:05:05 PM
i got these at Michaels because i needed a coat rack and mail holder so stuff didn't end up all over.  i also found some stickers that i really liked so i used the colour scheme on them and used some of the designs on the mail holder.  nothing too exciting but it's useful for me and the colours make me happy and look good in my entry way.  let me know what you think

4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / my love for olivia on: March 31, 2008 01:38:26 PM
this is my first project that i've posted and i'm super shy about it but here goes. . . i love love love olivia the pig, and wanted to make something to put in my new-ish apartment with her.  i got these 4x6 canvas boards on sale and thought i would play around.  i don't consider it to be art and not craft, just fun stuff for me to play around with.  i haven't attached them together yet to make them into one piece but it'll get done. . . let me know what you think

5  UNITED STATES / Kentucky / louisville, fun jobs on: March 26, 2008 09:08:14 PM
hey, i just recently moved to louisville and am looking for a fun job, something crafty would be great but any independent place would be cool too, the big thing is i'm really wanting someplace where i can be me, where i can wear my piercings or have my hair in a mohawk if i want, or not if i want.

anybody out there have any suggestions or any good contacts or anything??

much appreciated.
