231  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Do you have that bacteri in your collection??? on: December 23, 2008 08:12:34 PM
Well I do!

I made this for varandra for the 12 days of xmas mini swap because she has a love of science and I have a love of bacteria  Cheesy

Giving credit where it's due, I adapted this idea from molecularmuse on etsy. I love the idea of a spin on classic bug collections where specimen are pinned up in a display case.

 Grin

C&C are welcome and appreciated!
232  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / A collection of recent AWESOME prints !!! IMG HEAVY on: December 23, 2008 08:08:59 PM
Here are a few stencils I made out of freezer paper for various gifts and swaps I'm in

Here are two pillows I made for varandra in the 12 days of xmas mini swap. I LOVE the rib print and the birds are pretty sweet too.

Here's an octopus I did for fishie in the Dec birthday swap. It took FOREVER to cut out all the little pieces and I'm honestly surprised that I didn't end up destroying the stencil but I think it turned out great. I don't have a wide shot sadly, but its on the lower left side (I think) of the shirt curving just around the hip.

This is adapted from an image I found online for tiegan in the Dec birthday swap. I think it turned out really really cute but it's a little more smudged than I like due to the fact that I put on about 3 or 4 layers of white to make sure it would show the colors clearly.

Here's a wide shot:

Please let me know what you think!
233  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / New jewelry - Nature themed on: December 22, 2008 06:09:07 AM
Here's some jewelry I made for a recent swap. I'm still a newb when it comes to the tree of life style but I like it. The leaves clip was made from shrinky dinks. Please let me know what you think!

C&C are very much appreciated  Smiley
234  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / ORGANS IN RESIN AND ORGAN ALTOID TIN on: December 20, 2008 06:39:30 AM
I made this for varandra for the 12 days of xmas mini swap. All of the organs are made from shrinky dinks and then embedded in resin. I glued magnets on the back of them so they can decorate her fridge  Wink There's a heart, liver, kidneys, lungs, uterus, intestines (large and small), brain, and stomach. They all fit neatly into the tin and stick to it too (magnets - duh lol)

The (altoid) tin was decoupaged with an old 80's style anatomy book for kids.

Who can resist a good organ?  Grin

C&C very much appreciated.
235  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / SPIDERS, RESIN, CLAY, STEAMPUNK, ALICEinWONDERLAND (Img Obese) on: December 18, 2008 06:49:38 PM
I just did a swap with SevsOnlyGirl in the Dec birthday swap and made her a bunch of rockin' jewelry. It has a nice bit of everything  Grin

Drink Me! Earrings. My personal fav.

Next, a resin necklace featuring the white rabbit with a background of sparkles and cog wheels (steampunk-esque).

This heart resin piece was a bonus item. I LOVE clock parts  Cheesy

Here are some bonus resin pieces that I didn't make into jewelry but sent along for Sevs

Here's a Queen of Hearts pendant I made her out of poly clay; the face is a button I've had forever.

And here are a few spiders I made; definitely not the best I've seen on this site but I think they're cute (the rainbow one was my first try; it did not make the package for Sevs)

(Sorry for the blurry picture! I think it gives a more accurate idea about the color)

C&C appreciated!

236  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / Girl Scouts Gone Wild!!! on: December 16, 2008 05:22:12 PM
I saw a shirt similar to this a few years ago and thought it was brilliant. I used to be a Girl Scout and thought it very *cough* appropriate. Fast-forward to this winter; my boyfriend's brother's girlfriend (confused yet? lol) is a professed die-hard girl scout. She was in up until....however long you can be a girl scout...and this shirt flashed into my brain. I had to make it. I just hope she likes it as much as I do hehe..

My only disappointment with it is that the image is ever so slightly to the right I think. And the fact that the red fabric paint didn't cover the black lettering where it overlapped. Oh well. I still think it turned out pretty good.

C&C welcomed!  Grin
237  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / oh little bird sitting on the tea on: December 15, 2008 06:41:20 PM
I made these tea coaster for a swap and its my first time really attempting embroidery. I think the birds are the cutest things ever! I'm going to have to make some more for me.

Sorry for the not-so-stellar picture quality. C&C welcome  Smiley
238  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / birdies, stars, and trees oh my! on: December 15, 2008 06:37:43 PM
Here is a collection of xmas cards I made. I love the ones with the little birdies on them  Grin

239  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / matryoshka doll knitting needles on: December 15, 2008 06:35:55 PM
Here are some matryoshka dolls I made out of clay that I mounted on top of some knitting needles. Of course they fell off the needles in transport Sad but they look cool  Grin

240  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Sweet doggie sentiments on: December 15, 2008 10:52:35 AM
I made this for my boyfriend's parents for xmas. Recently they had to put down one of their golden retrievers due to old age which was very hard for them to do; I just wanted to create a piece that paid homage in a subtle way to old "Blue". I think its sweet, and I love the dog prints  Smiley

C&C are appreciated. Thanks!
