Wow I get first post  Tongue

I received from TwiztidBlood yesterday and here are the awesome cards she made me (yes you read correctly! She made me TWO cards!)

The one on the left is Winter; you can sort of make out the two iridescent snow flakes she put on the card. The second one is World - this one is my favorite  Cheesy I love old style world maps and the like. The little stamp on it is just the piece de resistance.

Thanks so much Twiztid! We'll be swapping again soon  Grin

(PS If you have a better image of the cards, feel free to post them. I don't have a scanner so this is the best I could do  Roll Eyes)

I received my package from Phoenixfiredesigns today and its awesome! She claimed me for a supply infusion based on my list and wists  Grin

She sent me bamboo tiles based off my wist which I'm really excited to try out! Also a cute picture frame for my cross stitch, a couple of switch plates for decorating (I'm thinking I'll save these for when I move into my new apartment  Cheesy), a stamp pad, buttons, beads, and some cute tins with magnets on the back so I can stick them to my fridge. So much awesome stuff, but there's more!

This is an assortment of cards and envelopes and cute scrapbooking paper that are all ready to make into awesome cards! In the back are some insanely cute and funny recipe cards she couldn't resist making me that read "This doesn't taste like crap" on the top. I couldn't get a good shot of them to show but they are awesome and I'm going to fill them up with recipes soon I'm sure  Grin

Thanks so much phoenix!!! I can't wait to get crafty with all this stuff!

I received from stellato_escuro today just before I had to go to work! Of course I rushed to open the package so I could see all the great goodies that she sent!  Grin (And was 5 minutes late for work, but who's counting).

WHIMSIES!!!

The whole jar was packed with the most random bits - sequins, TONS of buttons (I asked for those - THANK YOU!!), a few funky patches, ribbon, a toothpick sword. This is all going to come in handy when I start on my chunky pages swap - there's so much goodness that is going to come handy in my crafting.

Also, she thoughtfully included some delicious smelling teas! Now I can use the reusable tea bags I got! There were also chocolate covered gummi bears and blueberry-white chocolate bark. Those...well they didn't make it for pictures  Cheesy

Thank you so much stellato_escuro! I love it all.

Yay, I'm so happy you like it all.

Here's another picture of the tree before it got warped  Cry I thought the board I used would be thick enough...

I love the dino bones mold! It was such a random find, but I hope you have fun playing with soap in the near future  Grin

726  Card-issues: Why I am addicted to making cards...also chunky page fun! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by sheepBlue on: March 06, 2009 06:44:09 AM
It started when I joined the Valentine's day card swap...Now I can't stop  Roll Eyes Here's some more  Grin

In case you can't make out the text it says (from L to R, T to B): "The problem with cats is that they get the exact same look on their faces whether they see a moth or an axe murderer." "A little birdie told me that you suck." "My God, what's that smell? That is the smell of desire my lady. God no! It smells like a used diaper...filled with Indian food. You know, desire smells like that to some people." "Would I rather be feared or loved? Both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me."

The pink rabbit says "Apparently binge drinking causes brain damage." Blue rabbit replies "Whatever. Lots of things cause drain cabbage."

The cat exclaims "OMG Where's the exit?!"

Here are some mini cards  Grin with glue for size reference. From L to R they say "Robots are cool; any by cool, I mean, sweeter than Ninjas and Pirates put together." "The tooth fairy teaches kids that they can sell body parts for money." "If knitting were an exercise, you'd be able to bounce a quarter off my ass." "Putting the 'ho' in housewife." "Zombie boyfriends love you for your brains."

From L to R they say "I'm a junkie but at least I don't share needles." "Boy: You are the most beautiful girl in the world. Girl: You're just saying that. Boy: No! I'm madly in love with you and it's not because of your brains or your personality." "Bunny 1: I made some more candy today! Bunny 2: *sigh* For the last time, your 'brown jelly beans' are not candy!" "Put your big girl panties on and deal with it."

Here's a set of chunky pages I made for a swap. My fave is the last one; I stitched together tiny scraps of cloth to make a ocean of color and the little boat on top finishes the whole thing. There's also a small bead fish in the "water".

Here's a chunky representing the love of words. The writing itself is hard to make out even in person so here's what it all says "Language is the blood of the soul into which thoughts run and out of which they grow.  There is nothing to writing.  All you do is sit down at a typewriter and open a vein.  Words - so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil they become in the hand of one who knows how to combine them.  Language exerts a hidden power, like a moon on the tides.  The pen is mightier than the sword.  I am a galley slave to pen and ink.  Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.  Words, once they are printed, have a life of their own."

Lastly here another chunky page about Bees. I made the honeycombs out of cut up rubber tubing that I painted and then stuffed some of the holes with this weird beaded foam stuff I have to make it look like wax or something. I like how it turned out minus the fact that I ran out of room for the quote! It says "The bee is more honored than any other animal, not because she labors, but because she...(ran out of room! continued on the back) labors for others."

Please let me know what you think! C and C very much appreciated!

Cheesy I'm glad you like everything. I think the octopus drinking tea is my favorite too...I almost couldn't part with him. I'll have to draw up another one for myself.  Grin

For anyone that's curious, here's a thumbnail picture for close-ups on all the ones with text  Grin

I received from addicted2knitting (aka A2K) and I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVEEE everything. She hit everything on the nail.

Here's a picture of the pencil roll she claimed me for. I flipped it so you could see both fabrics she used, both cute owl fabrics - the one on the outside is a teacher  Cheesy And the one used on the inside is just a hoot  Wink

Then on the inside the flap flips up to prevent any mischievous pencils from escaping and revealed that there was a little surprise of PRISMACOLOR pencils!!! I've never owned any before but the few times I used them they were dreamy. Thank you so much!!!

A2K also thoughtfully provided some extras - two packs of cards and envelops!!! I knew I shouldn't have, but I ran out last Friday to the craft store and stumbled upon a pack of 50 cards and envelops on sale and bought them. Now, three days later I'm almost out of cards, so this package came just in the nick of time!  Cheesy Also there was some candy and a cute Monsters Inc toy (I'm trying to remember the character's name, I remember Sully but not the Billy Crystal character!!!)

Thank you sooooooo much! I love it all, and they're going to be put to good use very very soon.  Grin

I received from Babalina today! I had a feeling I was going to be receiving from her though nothing to really prove it  Tongue I love everything!

I opened the box to first to find a cute tote that has a saying on it that I love!

And underneath that were a bunch of decorated tins that will be great to help me stay organized with all my crafty things!

Tucked in the corner were two fish baggie soaps! So cute! I don't know if I'll be able to use them. I might just find someplace to display them because they're awesome.  Cheesy

At the bottom of the box were two beautifully painted canvases with trees on them. I love it! I'm starting to get quite a collection of trees and I'll need to start up a wall display or something  Wink

Thank you so much Babalina!!! This package was definitely worth the wait  Grin

730  Cross stitch funnies in Needlework: Completed Projects by sheepBlue on: February 27, 2009 07:55:29 AM
Here's a handful of my latest creations. A few were turned into valentine cards.

The little picture in the corner is my first attempt at this card. I'm so glad I gave it another go, it looks so much better.

I love this line because its so true! My boyfriend even agreed.

I admit it, I'm a closet romantic.

Made for a swap partner - Snorty is her bitch - literally  Cheesy

Curse donuts being so delicious!
