692  Sharing the LuV! Valentines for adults and kids alike.. in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by sheepBlue on: February 14, 2009 02:03:14 PM
I made a ton of valentines this year, most for the Valentine Classroom card exchange, and I had to share some of my favorites on this board.

Squirrels! Who can't love them? Especially when they sparkle. I found the template for this valentine on a crafty website...I'll have to go back and look up the link.

This dinosaur loves you! And I love him too!

This valentine is more of a hang on your window valentine than anything else. I edited my first attempt to be put next to the second. I like the second a LOT better.

Who doesn't love cake? And you too  Grin

Bunnies spelling out "love" are too cute to miss. The little square of pink in the corner is a picture of the card folded up. Nothing fancy - I let the inside of the card do all the talking.

I found this saying somewhere online and couldn't resist making a card to go along with it.

A simple heart flower on pretty chinese paper (or at least I think it's chinese).

I have even more cards to put up but I'll take more pictures later..

Comments and crits are very welcome! I'm just a newb still but I think these are pretty cool.

693  Sorry to hear about the VD - Happy Valentines day! robots, birds, crab, zombies in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by sheepBlue on: January 29, 2009 05:56:27 AM
Here is a collection of cards I've made recently out of paper, cardboard, and other random things around the house for Valentine's Day. Enjoy! Also stay tuned for part 2.

The last one is unfinished, I tried weaving for the first time since grade school.

697  Bird wall hanging and Dean martin coasters unite! in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General by sheepBlue on: January 28, 2009 05:32:42 PM
Here are a couple of things I made for my recent swap partner MandyLikesPie for the mystery swap version 2.0

I love this image - so simple and clean and yet cute. I did this is Mand's favorite color combo which I can't blame her for liking. The only decent frames I could find were these though. I was hoping to run across some white ones but oh well. The images themselves were cut out of regular paper and were super easy for anyone looking for some way to brighten up a plain wall.

Here's a set of Dean Martin coasters that I made out of ceramic bathroom tiles

They're definitely not perfect but I like the way they turned out for a first try. I covered the images with a layer of resin, which I never tried before and it worked like a charm. The only problem was when I was gluing the felt backing to the tile the glue strings from the hot glue gun stuck to the front. I was able to get most of it off but there are a few strings that are permanently stuck on.

698  Warning: Poo humor and sexual references *gasp* in Needlework: Completed Projects by sheepBlue on: January 27, 2009 07:43:31 AM
I am so proud of myself - usually I never make anything for myself or my boyfriend but I decided since I'm pretty much finished with all the swaps I'm currently in that I should take the time to make a couple of pieces for us to decorate our apartment when we finally move out. That being said, these two stitches I came up with are completely in line with our sense of humor.

The first one is going to be placed above the "throne" in our bathroom. Hehe, it says "Masterfece (n): A particularly large or shapely piece of poop. Ex: 'Did you see what I dropped off earlier today? Man, I tell you what, it was a masterfece.'" I feel the need to point out that we can be very poop-centric in our humor and this captures that quite beautifully  Grin

This one is going in our bedroom I think. He definitely isn't a 10 second man, but this line from the Van Wilder movie is just too hilarious not to put up somewhere. My boy asked me not to show his parents though  Roll Eyes Now that I look at the picture it seems like the frame is ever so slightly too big...I think I made the border too close. Oh well, I guess it'll stay like that until I find a better frame for it then.

This is a card I made for the VD card swap (partner has already received and seen it and loved it  Cheesy). It's rather cute though the robots took a really long time to do - I'm not sure why. The cool thing about it is that I didn't glue down the fabric so the person that received it can remove it for future projects - to make a patch or something with.

This is just a scrap that I was going to make a card with and then ended up leaving out. I'm not sure what I'll do with it now...we'll see.

There's a bunch more stitchery projects to come - I'm just waiting for certain people to receive their stuff before I post - don't want to spoil the surprise  Grin

yay! I received from Jenicat, superhooker, and Ursulaandolive all in one day. So I decided it was time to post pictures...or at least links to pictures so I don't spoil anyone's fun.

http://i288.photobucket.com/albums/ll183/sheepblue/vdset1.gif

Kevsbabe29 - I love the cute pattern on the card, and all the extras are awesome. As you can see from the picture I already found a need for a couple of hearts Smiley

TracyinNH - I love how unique your card was. I always love tie up cards and the shape was cool.

Superhooker - I adore that it looks like a first grader made it  Tongue hehe. I won't say much more than that lest I give away too much.

Ursulaandolive - I LOVE the subject of the card you made me - and glitter just makes everything better  Grin

Jenicat - I almost did a card like this and then changed my mind, but I'm glad someone did, they're so cool. Great job!

Hockamama - I love the quote you used and the papers are so cool. Very pretty  Smiley

And now because I can't resist teasers, here's a small compilation of parts of cards I sent out - not the whole picture though silly!  Cheesy

wow Great packages so far! I love this swap!

I received from cowgirlz101 this morning before work and had just enough time to warrant tearing into the package to see what kind of great goodies she sent my way!

Included were some scrap fabrics (I LOVE the plaid one, its so SOFT!), a stamping, stenciling, and embroidery book (all things I love or want to get into), a bunch of really cool shiny iron-ons, a christmas stamp, a wooden heart, zippers, a blank canvas bag for decorating, a bunch of random little objects like charms and beads that will be great for jewelry or resin casting.

Thank you so much cowgirlz101! I love everything and I can't wait to use these fresh supplies  Cheesy
