atsuko - I'm willing to bet there's an Egyptian one..just about anything is made in legos I think lol.

Today I had drawing class and totally kicked ass. I feel like I'm patting myself on the back or something but I really surprised myself with what I came up with. So here's my value study that we're working on in class. Keep in mind its still a work in progress.

Who knew I could kinda draw after all haha.

Also stopped by the dollar store on the way home and found precious precious gold!

I got two of the 3x3 frames which I'm totally going to alter. One is for me (my goal this year is to actually keep some of the stuff I make LOL) and I'm willing to bet the other will eventually wander into my shop  Grin The tiny house frame I couldn't pass up!!! I'm still undecided on whether I'm going to keep that one or not...I think I might have to  Grin

I hope everyone is having a great Monday!

663  Chunky house neighborhood in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by sheepBlue on: February 11, 2010 06:03:09 AM
I've dabbled in making chunky houses before which were always fun. So when I stumbled upon these great chipboard cut-outs at Michael's I found it hard to resist. I think my favorite would have to be the first and third.

The first one has a real window made from plastic and the image is a vintage image I've had forever. The flowers are made from paper and imitation pearl buttons. I think the sticker on top just ties the whole thing together  Grin

The roof on this one reminds me of grapes but I like it - there's a really cool texture to it too that the camera couldn't quite capture. I had the perfect little key hole charm that fit so well here.

I love the paper on this one - gorgeous handmade paper! The image at top is a Virgin figure that is kind of hard to make out in the image. Also in the window frame is a golden elephant that is hard to see with the glare. The flowers are made from these weird flower button things (not real buttons I think) that are glued down and the stems are puffy paint.

This one was kind of a "scene in Abe Lincoln's home life." Who knew he had fairy wings and liked flowers in his hair. The frame is actual metal held down with two brads.

Last one. I love the dictionary page background  Smiley

Any C & C welcome!

I think I have crafting ADD today. I keep going back and forth between making earrings and playing with my papercrafts  Smiley I put some more earrings in my shop, more teapots and birds and a few extra. I'm going to have a really really hard time parting with those squirrels  Roll Eyes

There's more than this; I thought I'd spare you guys all the clicking lol.

If I had any sewing or knitting skills I'd volunteer CC - if anyone wants a scarf I'm your gal  Smiley

School was can canceled because of the snow; normally I'd be thrilled (and I am in a way) but as I know I'm going to be missing school on Monday because of work it kind of threw a wrench in my pre-arranged plans with a couple of teachers to take a quiz early and whatnot. Grr. I hope it all works out.

Aside from that, I had the majority of my school work done so today is kind of a free day (I completely forgot what those were like haha). I worked some more on some projects for the IYP and even got some crafting done for my store finally. Here's some of the new stuff I put in my shop - very cute if I do say so myself haha.

I'm going to take a little break to brainstorm a new little project and then jump into it. Maybe at some point today I'll even get to playing with the chipboard houses destined for my shop.

Eliea - I LOVE homemade apple chips and jerky. My mom makes the best jerky with a family marinade recipe. I'd definitely be tempted if you were to do some dehydrated stuff  Grin

crumpet79  - good luck taking care of the hubby after surgery. My boyfriend went through the same surgery about 3ish years ago before I was living with him (in combination with tonsil removal) and he was on a 100% liquid diet for a good week and a half I guess. Apparently it lays you low for a bit  Roll Eyes

I had to stop at michael's today to get a brush for my art class and was fairly good on my budget. I was determined to only spend $10 and went over by 36 cents - not too bad. I picked up some more teapot beads that I think I'm going to turn into more earrings like this

if anyone would be interested in claiming some...Also got a couple of packages of these really cute chipboard house shapes that I'm trying to decide what to do with...either chunky houses or books or maybe both. Which will probably end up in my shop eventually...gotta get my IYPs done first!
