1  my amazing technicolor crochet ripple blanket in Crochet: Completed Projects by face! on: January 21, 2009 07:08:38 AM
I got the pattern out of Jan Eaton's 200 ripple stitch patterns.  I believe it was called soft waves.   I used knitpicks swish worsted yarn (100% superwash merino wool) in a variety of colors that are not all available anymore....that should give you an idea of how long i've been working on this.  This was sort of the project I worked on when I didn't feel like working on anything else.  As far as size goes, you can get an idea from the width based off my couch.  The length is long enough to cover the average person's toes and still come up to their neck when they are cuddled on the couch.  :-)

Picture time!

3  reupholstered chairs for our dining room table in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by face! on: September 14, 2007 06:55:30 PM
We bought this dining room table from a guy on craigslist when we bought our new house at the end of July.  I finally got around to recovering the chairs for it.

This is what they looked like when we got it:

this is what was underneath the ugly red vinyl (cute, but VERY dirty):

and this is what I did to them.  fabric is Etsuko Furuya that I got from Reprodepot.com

4  super easy cupcake decorating idea in Dessert by face! on: September 01, 2007 05:28:30 PM
I think this worked really well...I needed a really fast way to make an impact with these cupcakes as they were for a party with really short notice.   i used box cake mix and store bought icing.   I dyed half the icing blue.   Iced half white and the other half blue.  Then I put red candy melts on them and a little dab of the other icing color.   They looked really mod and definitely vibed well with the whole blue and red decor thing we had going on. Cheers!

5  owl purse in Crochet: Completed Projects by face! on: June 23, 2007 11:10:30 PM
I bought this pattern from anapaulaoli on etsy.  It's a really fast and easy pattern, I highly recommend it.  The only thing I don't like is that the only 5 inch zipper hobby lobby had was black.

7  Re: help me plan my apple party in Party Planning by face! on: May 31, 2007 03:03:50 PM
i definitely think you should play apples to apples.  that game is lots of fun.

you could make sour apple martinis if people are going to be of drinking age.  you could have the apple dumpling gang movie playing in the background with the sound muted.   You could make huge apples with construction paper and post them around the room with different faces relating to different stages of drunkenness, ie:smiley apple, frowning apple, dizzy apple, puking apple, passed out apple  - my brilliant friend LM did this with regular smiley faces for a hospital themed party she had..but i think the idea would be cute in this theme too.   that's all i got right now.

8  teenage mutant ninja turtle hat/masks TMNT in Crochet: Completed Projects by face! on: March 05, 2007 07:33:28 PM
This is my first attempt so don't be too critical.  I've never really created my own pattern.  This is my attempt at a Raphael TMNT mask.   I'm making Donatello's, Michelangelo's and Leonardo's in the next couple days.   My friends and I will be wearing them to see the new movie opening night.  I think on the next attempt I'll find a tighter pattern for the green portion...that should be easy to fix.  I'm really happy with the way the eye portion turned out though so I don't think I will need to tweak that at all.  I think this may turn out to be the coolest thing I've made so far.  I'm sure I'll update with pictures of the whole crew when I get them done.

9  the unsymmetrical hat in Crochet: Completed Projects by face! on: March 05, 2007 07:24:59 PM
I made this for my boyfriend.  it is loosely based off the "Boy Beanie" in Happy Hooker.  The eyerolling means he likes it.

10  granny square lapghan for my granny in Crochet: Completed Projects by face! on: February 21, 2007 09:53:46 PM
I made this as a Christmas present for my grandma.   This is a zoomed in picture, but the actual blanket was about 5 ft x 5 ft and was just one giant granny square.  I used knitpicks wool of the andes in cranberry, carrot, avacado, and tan.
