1  Shrimp Filled Shell in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by fairchildart on: August 06, 2009 01:56:17 PM
AIM (Artisans in Miniature) magazine had a feature on using real mini seashells as bowls/plates/containers and I thought they were so cute!

I used Angie Scarr's tutorial on how to make prawns and tweaked it a bit, the seashell measures 3/4ths of an inch in length:

I've been itching to make some food earrings for a while now, so I finally bought some surgical stainless steel posts and went to work!

Some stud earrings:

A pair of juicy heirloom tomatoes

Fried eggs, complete with browned crinkled edges!

Toast slices with melting pats of butter

I also made some dangle earrings of red hot chili peppers:

The wooden platter is made by the amazing graphic designer Ilisha Helfman.

Hope you enjoy!!  Grin

3  Dollhouse sized edibles - image heavy! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by fairchildart on: May 23, 2009 08:22:50 AM
I've been working like a madwoman since I finished school and couldn't be happier to devote all my time to mini making! Cheesy

These are all crafted to one inch scale, the accessories were purchased from either ebay or a local miniatures shop (Little Enchantments in Edina, Minnesota).

Peaches are my absolute favorite to make, their shape and coloring is so much fun to try to capture.

4  1/12th scale food - desserts, cheese & fruit :) in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by fairchildart on: August 16, 2008 05:32:28 AM
Hello everyone, I'm a craftster newbie. Smiley

I've been sculpting miniatures from polymer clay since June, starting out with tutorials given in Dollhouse Miniatures books and then working up to trying to capture real life details!  I worked at Land O'Lakes for a few years so I have piles of cookbooks to scour and have so so many miniature foods I want to try to create.

As you can see sweets are my favorite. Cheesy  I'm incredibly picky about details, texture in particular.  But it's an amazing way to relax by just spending hours sculpting.

Hope you enjoy my mini creations. Smiley
